How long is it supposed to take for the emulator to download current conditions when you set it up?

few minutes at most

It took too long.  I didn't get to finish setting it up because it took so long, and I have a fast Internet connection.

1. They may of been waiting for the weather star HD to be at there headend.

2. This a just a test and they just reused the old one with a new HD coming soon.

3. A full HD one will come with the HD gui and or the NEW direct tv tivo HD.

They do have a SD star at there headend.

Uh yes a nation star. Perhaps they may have something like that for the hd channel down the line. However these products are meant to replace that forecast

The Game Room / Updated Game Room Policy *READ BEFORE POSTING*

If a member wishes to start a new game you need to get admin approval first. This is to weed out games that are difficult (or impossible) to play on the internet, or games that are flat out dumb (no offense) or make no sense.

If you post a new game without getting approval from one of the admins first you will automatically receive a 75% warn, or a suspension over several days as the acting admin sees fit. A subsequent infraction of this rule will result in a permanent banning from the forum.

Posting restrictions here are those that govern the entire forum (see the forum rules thread in the news board). However, you MUST participate elsewhere in the forum to continue to be allowed to post in here. As long as you participate regularly elsewhere on the boards you can post here as much as you wish. However, no one will be allowed to lounge in here and not participate elsewhere. Those who are found to be doing so will not be allowed access to the game room and/or may receive a warning from an admin at any time. The warning is non-negotiable and subject to change in severity depending on the case. Game Room posts should not exceed more than 60% of a persons daily posts if a person has greater than 10 posts per day.

I hope these new policies will make it so that people will feel free to post as they please in here, while making it clear that lounging in here and not posting elsewhere will not be allowed.

Introducing...Microsoft Office 2010! Don't know when it's going to come out but it looks a bit similar to Office 2007.

Yet, I am barely using Office 2007 for my Intro to Info Systems class... 

I have been trying it out for sometime now. Its an improvement over 2007 but more touchups and tweaks rather than the huge UI changes between 03->07

The 2007 version of Office is very confusing. My school has it and everyone I know has the same opinion.

I know this is a page old and all, but I think 07 just takes some time getting used to, it has more features than 03, at first I thought it was confusing, and when I look it 03 now, it isn't as good...

I agree. In the long terms its much cleaner and more organized.

You want to hear something crazy listen to this. My school system has a new policy... curve all failing grades to a 61. So the grading system looks like this now
(61-69)E
(70-75)D
(76-85)C
(86-92)B
(93-100)A

This is INSANE!! If I study hard on a test and make a 61 and someone who guesses on every problem, we both make the same grade. Its just a sneaky way to inflate scores. Also the weight given for tests has also been decreased. Teachers, parents and some students (me included) are pissed as hell. This is another reason No Child Left Behind needs to be axed. Schools are cutting corners to boost scores and pass rates. I wrote an editorial about this to my newspaper and it got published Sunday. To my surprise a local news station WVEC came to my house and interviewed me on it. My editorial sparked them to run the story. I was also contacted by another station today. Nobody told parents or students about this new policy at all. The system kept it quiet....and on purpose!!
