I started my finals yesterday. The only one I've been worried about was physics, but it was easier than I thought. So far, it's been okay, except that I messed up my Chinese final since I put some answers in the wrong places on the Scantron, so I had to spend extra time fixing it. :pinch:
Good luck with them :) Hope you do well!

Wow, that was an...interesting proposal. From CNN:

President Obama: "I call on every state to require that all students stay in high school until they graduate or turn 18."
Let your school system try it out and experience the misery I had to go through. This was the policy for my public school system and it was horrible. Kids who typically drop out don't want to be in school. Forcing them and holding their hand through a couple extra years does NOTHING. They degrade the classroom environment and could care less about academics. Sounds great on paper but in practice it sucks. In fact you will probably see failure rates increase per grade level.

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

I've long been afraid of this. One of our local affiliates after the switch to HD several years ago did a "virtual 3d" studio like what you see above and it looked disastrous. There were cheesy graphics scrolling around, random lights and it just looked dumb. The technology is not there to make an actual realistic virtual studio. I can somewhat understand a local station trying this since they are limited on studio space but with the giant studios TWC has it makes no sense. Give it 5 years and try again.

Our editing director at church said that when he went to an event held by Adobe, they asked how many people had After Effects. Then they asked how many people had a legal copy of After Effects, and only a few hands remained up. I think my hand would have to go down on that one. I do plan on buying it SOMETIME, but not anytime soon LOL

What's considered a non-legal copy of After Effects? :dunno:  Don't worry, I'm not trying to bust you or anything Austin.  I know sometimes sites online have programs that you can download for free, although I don't remember seeing any for After Effects.  So maybe it's a trial version or "simpler" version?

And Victor, I just typed in "After Effects" in Google, scrolled to the one with the Google Product search (shopping results) and discovered it was $524 for PC and $589 for Mac.  There may be additional costs, too, if you look at the prices for it at Wal-Mart or Best Buy, it is near $1000! :o  Amazon offers it for a little over $600.  Once again, you guys who have it must have a lot of money in your pocket. :P
Ridiculous how much it costs. As a result its one of the most distributed software titles on the web. You would think if they just lowered their price they would make so much more in the long run. I guess these titles are cash cows for companies like Adobe

Oh great, they said we'll get snow last night, nothing happened. Now they are saying 2-4" for tomorrow, but it's going to change to rain. Seems like we can't get an all snow event like last year, well we didn't last year either. :snow:
You didn't last year? I thought there were quite a few?

General Discussion / Re: Congress drops SOPA and PIPA (for now)
« on: January 20, 2012, 09:02:26 PM »
I guess it really doesn't matter anymore. Apparently federal agents can take down a massive internet site in another country and arrest everyone connected to it on shady grounds at whim. This case with Megaupload is astounding.

Here's my opinion on this matter, and I realize that I'm very different compared to everyone else here:  I'm completely neutral on these SOPA and PIPA bills.  I clearly see the point of stopping internet piracy, but there are definitely flaws on the approach and the lack of focus to carry out their intent.  What I want to know is why are they suddenly a big deal anyway when we have so many larger issues in our country right now?  We have many people still unemployed, an unprecedented debt problem, trouble with foreign countries, and a growing polarity and lack of trust in all citizens.  Shouldn't these be the issues that we should be worried about right now?

It makes this whole debate on these laws and the protests with all these blackouts a huge waste of time and effort that we ought to be prioritizing to focus on solving these issues that will greatly affect all of us.  We can take care of the internet piracy issue later when things are better and we have the time to make it a higher priority.  Besides, I think England already has a case-by-case law that handles this issue quite well.  So, I feel like we lost a day that we all could have done something far more productive than this debacle.

Thank you! :worship:  I would like to know the same thing.  This is by far NOT the most important matter that we should be dealing with in our country right now.  Congress seems to have no idea how to prioritize.  Are the SOPA/PIPA bills going to magically get us out of the economic slump we are still in?
But talking about the economic crisis was sooooooooo last year. you know American's can't focus on one thi---- what was I saying? mmmm donuts.

Am i not the only one who thinks Abrams and Bettes should be on WCL?
No, A&B are a high rated team, so they belong on a high rated time of day.

So is WCL no longer a high-rated time of day? :dunno:  Maybe that explains why they have, in my opinion, two new and inexperienced OCMs.  But I figured the two top shows on TWC were YWT and WCL.
Number wise that would probably be WUWA and YWT. WCL is probably third.

I think trying to predict the future of television in ten years is a little... impossible, to say the least.  :)
I wasn't predicting the future of television. I was predicting the fate of Weatherscan ;)
