I use it on my Chumby all the time. Its a great service! Use it for smooth jazz, classic rock, latest music. Good way to discover new artists and songs

I think TIME is the reason why the forums have been slow.  Nobody seems to have time any more. Like others have mentioned, TWC is going through a time where NOTHING is happening.  It is all the same from day to day. I know I don't even touch the game room.  I don't see how some of those topics can even be considered "games"
Perhaps its time for me to go in there and clean up some things. I'll think about doing that. I agree though, time for everyone is shorter these days! My main concern is to loose people completly! I hope that despite the low activity people are still willing to come back when they have some time. I don't want this place to reach the levels TWCC has been seeing.

All changes are made manually by the STAR team.
Oh ok. I always wondered if the IS just automatically took traffic data from a database. Its quite interesting traffic.com wasn't updated before TWC.

PennDot has a long term plan to expand I-376 from it's current designation (eastern suburbs of Monroeville/Plum/Penn Hills to Downtown) to go all the way to Pittsburgh Int'l Airport and re-designate parts of I-279 and PA-60 north all the way to I-76 in Mercer county. Recently, the first rounds of changes happened, by changing I-279 from Downtown to I-79 to I-376. What I find interesting is that the traffic.com products haven't been updated yet - but the flows on TWC have. Here's a screen shot from the New Ken Weatherscan. I'll get screen shots from the other STARs tomorrow.

In this picture - the I-79 route used to read "I-279/Parkway West to Bridgeville." You can see how it differs. The screen shots I'll post tomorrow have more substantial changes.
Does the STAR team make these changes or are they just added automatically?

anyone got a date for the IS relaunch?
The IS isnt going to be changed for a long time. I dont know why people keep thinking its ever gonna change. Just because TWC hasn't made any changes in a long time doesn't mean they are going to do something. There really is no need to change it. I know a lot of people here dont like it in its current state but its stable and sufficient for what TWC needs. I would be very surprised to see any significant changes to the IS in terms of the hardware or software. A graphics upgrade isn't really needed in my opinion. Unlike the other stars, the intellistar is a remarkable system that wont be quickly changed or removed as previous systems. I can easily see the IS being used for 7+ years without a hardware upgrade.

OMG Toy Story is coming back!!  Can't wait to see their 3rd and final movie! Looks pretty good!
How long has it been since the last one came out?

It's been awhile like 7 or 8 years. I remember because it came out around my birthday though.

I think it was more than that...10 years IIRC. Both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were released on my birthday believe it or not   :thrilled:
wow i forgot its been so long

The stream doesn't get as many visitors as you all think.  I never see more than ten people in it now when it used to have far more back in April and May.  I feel the real reasons for the decline in posting activity come from school and the lack of interest in TWC lately.  The TWC boards have really slowed down since the summer began as there's been almost no news worth mentioning.  Furthermore, I noticed many members feeling really upset about TWC's changes this year.  Maybe we should try expanding TWCT to include more weather topics or other ideas involving TWC.  Any ideas?
I have interests in improving the amount of discussion on weather related topics. I do think lack of interest with TWC plays an important role

Why is the forum so dead lately?
I apologize for my own lack of participation. I have recently had to deal with some family issues as well as having been sick for several days. Both have put me behind.

I have a midterm but I'm not too worried about it. Most of my classes though have more frequent tests instead of a huge midterm and final.
Wow midterms already? Guess its getting to be that time

As for the IRC chat.....
Plus, a lot of the site news Martin announces is on the stream, so the majority of our members would have no idea what is going on with the site. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, but that stream really needs to go, or at least just limit our time on it and make sure to share things on the forum too.
I disagree with that statement completely. I have not neglected to mention anything on the chat over the forum. People already limit their time on it as well. Quite frankly I only use it for a few min each day. I think the same goes for other users as well. The chat is not meant to replace the forum and it doesn't. It provides an environment similar to instant messaging where people can talk about their lives and chat about things perhaps they don't want to publicly post on the forum. In fact most people use separate clients just like an IM client.

If there is enough concern over having the chat, I will make a poll to determine if it should say based on majority vote.
