Well I went to the Obama rally for democratic governor nominee Deeds today. I wanted to see both sides of the political spectrum before I vote. Still plan on voting for McDonnell (R) but it was fun getting in the crowds and seeing the president.

I just remembered that I have some Halloween stuff to do on the 31st. I might not be here to record it.
:( Sorry to hear that! Perhaps next time then :)

Programming and Graphics / Re: The Weather Channel adds a movie night
« on: October 25, 2009, 10:56:19 PM »
I understand why they're doing a movie night on Friday nights.  But, at the same time, I don't think it's a stellar idea.  And, to be honest, I don't see it lasting very long.  There aren't too many weather movies out there, to begin with.

But, we'll see.
Yea Jennifer ( a producer at TWC) said it would be temporary. Lets hope so.

I have to admit, the only time I ever watched "The Golf Channel" was when they were showing the movie Caddyshack.
Omg Caddyshack!!! I love that movie! haha

Local Forecast / Re: Question about all WeatherSTAR's
« on: October 25, 2009, 10:54:46 PM »
Was trying to find out info on the WeatherStar Emulator? So I found this site http://www.taiganet.com/forum/index.php?
I think a TWC style feed, or similar, on my website would be the ticket. So I wanted to find out what is needed.

Oh yes its an emulator of an older style weatherstar. here is a sample of it.

Its a standalone software that runs on your computer very similar to our own weatherscan emulator which you can see here. https://twctodayforums.com/index.php?page=emulators/overview

I know how hard that darn code can be. they refuse to change it to make it easier. Here is the download link if your interested http://www.taiganet.com/WSPublicBeta/4000Install.msi

Hello,
Thanks for the warm welcome I received in the other thread.
My names Dave. I grew up in NJ, but moved to KY for about 15 years now. The weather here in KY is much more interesting than NJ. Since I was young I have been fascinated with the weather. Two years ago my wife got me a personal weather station for Christmas and I notices that I could upload my info to the internet. Getting carried away with things like I usually do, now I have a full blown website serving my local community - Cave Country Weather. com.

Welcome Dave! So glad to have you here at the forums. I too have a PWS, what type do you have? Cool website too B)

I will have to read a bit around here to get to know you guys.

Where do I go to find info about WeatherStar? I joined their forum, but I still can't get around. (forum blocked and no confirmation email)
Which forum are you talking about? You may be confused as to the forums product. WeatherStar is a branding of computers created by The Weather Channel to generate local forecasts. One of these systems is located at your local headend. Since its introduction in the late 80's there have been several different upgrades and newer types. That wiki article should fill you in. Feel free to ask any questions you want here :)

That is so sad. She was my favourite when I was little in the early to mid 90s. I had thought she was so pretty like Barbie. When my friend and I played with the barbies, my barbie was always named Jeanetta.

I was looking for a place to contact TWC and came across this forum. I hope you all excuse me for needing a place to vent about WUWA. I have been a long time fan of TWC and have watched it regularly since it first came out. As you can see by my sig., I am very into the weather.

I have about lost all respect for the integrity of TWC with this "show". It comes on early in the morning and I have only seen it a few times. I guess it really wouldn't effect me if I could avoid it, but because of all its advertising, I can't. I am beginning to think that he gets more air time with the ads through out the day, than his show does. Does anyone from TWC visit this forum? Is ther a place to give them any feedback?

Well I feel a bit better. This looks like a forum that I should visit more often and hopefully not just to rant.

Welcome Welcome Welcome!!! :) We all have been quite disappointed by TWC over the past year or so. No need to apologize for venting... we all have at some point! ;) Feel free to say hi and introduce yourself here if you have a moment! :)  https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php/topic,2550.0.html

Hello from West Virginia!  My family and I finally completed my move.  Things were a little rough as we had to drive through pouring rain and heavy traffic on Friday, and we had to unpack everything on Saturday.  Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Glad the move went well Patrick! Hows the wx in West Va :P ?
