Possible system this weekend? Winter weather?

Everytime you mention winter weather, the NWS starts mentioning it for me too. :P I haven't seen it, but I heard the Euro is developing a major storm for the EC this weekend.
Indeed

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: A Very Odd Error...

I agree, nice catch. While Directv's "weather on the 8s" is not as complete as the cable version it is far superior to what DISH boasted about in late 2006 and never pulled off. I hope that one day Directv will be able to come closer to the cable version. One thing I wish Dtv would do soon is to close the HD version the same way the SD version closes with the national radar loops.
Perhaps if the boxes get some decent specs  then one day its possible to improve it.

Welcome to the forum btw :)

Our school now has tardy tables. Teachers used to care less if you were a couple seconds or min late. Now your caught and entered into a database before you even get to the classroom. 4 and you get Saturday school. Retarded rule.

OMG, I'm screwed. The portable HD I bought for my laptop, where I moved the videos I recorded in about a dozen locations, is not readable. Any ideas on what I can do?
Is it a physical drive error? If so then you are likely screwed. If not its just a matter of getting the computer to read it. Does the drive make any odd or rhythmic clicking noises?
Yes, it is believed to be a physical error. I took it into Staples, and after searching for the drive on special software they have, they told me it could be that something got loose inside the drive and scratched the disk. They told me I can have someone mehcanically take the thing apart and steal the files off that way. Not sure if that works though.
I've been able to get some data off with some recovery software found on the web. I would only pay for them to get the data as a last resort since most places charge by the gb for data recovery. Last resort.... stick it in the freezer :P Sometimes it works
