It does sound possible that you might need a faster processor, but I still find it odd that it's a brand new laptop and you're having this much trouble.

Ya it's sad that they would sell computers like that, i talked with my parents and i'm going to get the Toshiba on Sunday, hopefully the processor is not the problem on the new laptop.
I am not sure what you mean. Simply put a $400 is not designed to do video processing. They sell computers like that because some people don't need $1000 worth of equipment for word processing and web browsing. I think you are just asking too much of the system. Its not a problem with WinTV, the brand, processor. Look for a computer with a better processor. For using a tuner a laptop $500 or above really would be ideal and even that could be pushing it a little

@Tyler, I'm surprised that TWC hasn't laid the smack down on them, unless they got the rights to that track somehow, or TWC just never knew...
Stephen Arnold Music has two versions of that track. One that is just a standard production piece (the one used in that WTAE promo), the other one is the TWC version that has the TWC signature chime in it.
Most Stephen Arnold Music is available to news stations across the country and many use versions of his work. You hear the same audio packages on news stations across the country...same situation.

Could a avatar rotation mod be added? I think this is a good idea since we have the option of sig rotation. I have a good idea in mind for my avatar if this can be added.
I will see if there is one around. I am not sure if someone made one

Interesting...the squares are gone from the forum. Everything is all stars now. This isn't really a problem, just wanted to point it out and didn't know where else to put it. :P
Probably because there aren't squares for every group. I noticed that the Site Designer group uses yellow stars instead of green like it's supposed to. Might wanna fix that. Also, is there any reason why the color codes for the content editor and site designer groups were swapped?
Just need some more colors for the new squares. Stars are just temporary

TWC Today News / Re: New Addition To The Administration
« on: February 15, 2010, 06:23:33 PM »
This thread hasn't been locked because I feel this needs to run its course and people need to get whatever is bothering them out. I will do my best to make sure everyone is happy. As I have said before the lack of TWC interest has caused some issues on top of others. I have a strong feeling that the next few months will bring out some more activity.

Another I should note is that perhaps people are misinterpreting the position of "admin". An admin does not necessarily mean they make major forum changes, policies, etc. Its more of a glorified moderator although some of us do other options as well. I am considering if I should revive the "moderator position" for some admin but quite frankly it never bothered me enough to do it. Something to think about at least considering the things I have heard.

Thank you Patrick.

Look here is the rundown on the admins:
Gary- will never be removed as admin unless he tells me to do so
Kyle- will evaluate the position based on comments from other admins and Kyle himself
Stephen- will not be removed as admin. He does a lot more than you think

Some of you see to be enjoying picking a fight out of everything. Does it matter if there are 3admins for 6admins? I really am disappointed that you all are arguing about this.

This is interesting but Patrick certainly deserves the administrator position since he's always done a good job on keeping an eye on things in the forums and focusing on any attention. But IMO, I think there are too many admins in the forum now. One or two of the exisiting admins should be stepped down considering they either don't do much or they're inactive. Of course, when they became more active you can bump up their position again but I'm sure many others agree with me here..With decreasing activity here 6 admins is overkill.

Yeah, I also have to agree with Molly. Three admins (even four) are fine. But having six admins is a little extensive, IMO. :hmm: I still think Patrick should stay as an admin, but as Molly said, maybe some of the inactive ones should be moved down in status...just a thought. :)
There are 5 not 6

TWC Today News / New Addition To The Administration

I am pleased to announce our resident meteorologist, Patrick will be becoming part of the TWC Today administration team.  I want to express that he has requested not to be contacted on every issue including site/forum problems. Please respect his wishes!  I expect everyone to treat him as you would any other staff member.

On another note early this morning, the server on which TWC Today operates was breached and the site/forum were down for a few hours. Some items need repairing and its possible a brief outage may occur at any moment today.

Finally, I got a reply to a PM I sent to a user who lives in Davison, on the east side of Flint. He got a video up of his Intellistar:
Local on the 8's - Snow Storm in Flint/Davison, Michigan 2-10-10

Definitely one of the most interesting configurations I have seen. Note the seemingly bigger focus on the many smaller towns dotted about east central Michigan (i.e. the use of Ithaca, my mom's home town, on the metro map instead of Alma which is twice as big). Also check out the error with Oakland and Pontiac on the bottom of the metro map- plus, Oakland is the name of that county, and no such city exists. Also note the big focus on Flint.

Thats a lot of snow in the forecast :P
