Blue one remains on the local because new one doesn't match. The new, small LDL will be used during long-form and "some shows," where they want to conserve screen space, and the other LDL, now the primary LDL, will be used at all other times.

Can you fill me in as to why they decided not to insert a clock into the national LDL, as well as getting rid of air quality, airports, travel forecast, and especially traffic data?

I agree they SHOULD but the sad fact is the XL just is no longer going to be supported for visual changes like this.

I understand it doesn't match but it still works... you know what they say, don't fix what ain't broke.

Traffic data has been an issue I think with its quality and reliability. Airport delays were kind of pointless in a lot of areas as the FAA rarely updates the status. My airport always had No Delay.... even if the whole airport was closed! haha

As for the XL LDL you have to think like a business. XL is an old piece of equipment and mixmatched graphics reflect on the quality of TWC not the cable company for not upgrading their unit. Granted I think everyone would agree here that local info is much better than what is offered now. Like I said before, its another kick in the rear by TWC for these places to upgrade

We all welcome you to participate in our Local Across the 48s where we record an LF and this time record the weather segment after it until the first commercial break.  It will take place tonight at 8:58PM ET if you are interested. I totally get that, But really do XL viewers really have to suffer this way? alot of Mediacom users have an XL.

at least twc should give those areas a local bar or an alternative with the same ldl to accommodate the change.

I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with the fact that the XL is pretty old compared to the IS. I think TWC wanted to focus more on the IS and the prototype HD STAR.

Age isn't too much of a factor here. The XL has a lot of potential left in it and the SGI units in general are powerful units. However TWC has moved on the greater and bigger things so they just don't care too much.

As much as I wanted to do that, I had to finish up the MME today. Glad I didn't though, certainly didn't miss much.

Yea obviously school is more important but I didnt have much to do today anyway there so it all worked out. I thought it was interesting to stay up for... or in some peoples case wake up earlier for

Something tells me the clock will be added on eventually, I was also going to comment about how large the font was for the temp on the LDL this morning, but I see it's been fixed since I been at school today.

Lot of tweaks going on today but I am not confident about a clock. I hope so though

This new LDL effected those with the WS XL, which sucks...So now if you have an XL, you will only see a national LDL during programming.. no local info what-so-ever!

I don't see the point of twc removing the black bar. could someone fill me in on why they might have come to this conclusion?

Same reason the 4000 and JR LDLs were turned off. They dont match with the on air graphics. Also a kick in the rear to those areas that still have it to upgrade to an IS

Keep in the back of your mind that YWT and another day part should be getting new graphics soon, as stated in the first post of the thread.

Not so sure of that. There never was a clarification on just what "new graphics" meant. Possibly it means just new title bars and new L3s.

Yes the wording was unclear. Ill be checking up on that
