PMing the STAR Team is strictly against the forum rules and regulations. Doing such will result in a warning increase.

From this point forward, please no longer reply to a thread in the Tech Support forum with a response consisting of, or similar in varying to the following:
"You shouldn't of posted that here."
"Suggestions aren't allowed here."
"That shouldn't of been posted in the Tech Support thread."
etc.

First and foremost, it's been stated by the STAR Team mild suggestions are welcome, though that doesn't mean they will be implemented. Also, it shouldn't be anyone else's job to tell another member what should be posted where. Repeat violators will be issued consequences...no ifs/ands/buts/excuses. This new rule isn't directed towards any one person, but rather towards everyone, as folks have been posting replies like this since the forum was introduced. Thanks!

How about these?  I wasn't sure if the star section was a set height so here are two versions:
-Also, I figured the stars and background colors could be changed with the category you are in, i.e. member, admin, meteorologist, etc.
Hmm those are neat. Thanks for sharing :D
This is what I have so far. I've only made badges for regular users as of yet, but the badges for users with special titles will be very similar to the TWC titlebars (just much smaller! ;)). This is just the subtitlebar, chopped off from the titlebar. I had to make it dark because it wouldn't show up worth a crap if it were to use the exact colors of the subtitlebar. I'd appreciate comments...thanks!
I really like these!!

Martin, I noticed a couple things you may want to edit with the STAR team guidelines thread:

Quote
This forum is only for issues directly related to your STAR products, Local on the 8’s or Weatherscan. All other questions should be sent to weather.com or discussed in another TWC Classics forum.

Quote
When possible, make sure to include your local weather ID (in the ‘black bar’ on an IntelliStar, or usually displayed in the upper right hand corner of the screen before the :58 after Local on the 8s on the other Stars).

Also, I want to discuss a couple things with you about this merger through PM :)
yes that area is not edited or finished. There are quite a few things I need to do. Please send me your PM.

My tuner is analog, ClearQAM doesn't work on it. Doesn't it work with LCD TV's though? I can try and see if I can get ClearQAM on that.
Most TVs have it built in

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Re: Spiders?
« on: March 28, 2010, 11:45:41 PM »
As Mike said, spiders add pages to their database. They also attach key words to them, based on the content (text) they find. Spiders (generally) only see text. Without spiders, sites wouldn't get indexed by search engines like Google. Not a big deal to you all, but a very big deal to Martin and I.

Bots, on the other hand, generally scrap personal information like email addresses off web pages, so they can be sold to marketing companies. This is one of the ways you get spam.

Aaron you are confusing the two. A "bot" on the IRC chat refers to a program called mIRC that can post certain phrases upon a command. ex. if I post !time and a bot was designed to look for that and respond to it, it would. This is not the same as a search engine bot/spider.

Search engines comb this site and all pages as well as user accounts. They can not be assigned to members so I don't know why anyone would worry about that. They are the reason if you search "Kim Perez" a TWCT forum page might show in the results. This is another reason why I changed the forum so topics now are displayed with meaningful urls. Look at the URL of a topic sometime and you will see actual words rather  than something like https://twctodayforums.com/forums/index.php?topic=2780. Makes it much easier for search engines to track which increases hits in the long run.
