For whatever reason, "Downtown Lansing", which is far too big for that "tab" on the bigger LDL, appears when the radar and sat/rad are displayed on the LDL. However, it displays simply "Lansing" for all other CC and forecast products.

Guess they forgot to remove it. TWC axed all of the downtown, etc stuff.

No, the reason I brought it up was because that wasn't happening before this morning... and it only appears for the radar and sat/rad. The temp also disappears when those two tabs are up.

Hmm wonder if when they added the update for the clock a few things on the side changed. Shouldn't but thats still interesting.

I have noticed on 24745 that on the "alert" page of the new LDL, the city is displayed as "DTW'N MEMPHIS", while during regular cycles, simply says "MEMPHIS".

Unless thats new its leftover from when the update occurred.  Mine still does that I think

TrafficPulse simply pulls all the traffic data from local sources. Because your city or location is not served by them is not their fault. TWC uses them because it would be stupid if not impossible to try and get data from every state/city locale that has data. Traffic data is run by local governments. It is up to that state to spend money on senors and infrastructure for major roadways and interstates.

What a waste... the nat'l display LDL was supposed to display all kinds of info that I'll bet users liked... i.e. airport delay info, travel cities, almanac, etc. The previous LDL displayed all the CC and forecast data for the main 3 cities necessary
Plus, they could just sit the ad on top (above) of the LDL. They send the LOT8's ad through to all the Intellistars, so what is wrong with doing that in this case during nat'l broadcasts?

Why on earth would they want to send them through the Intellistar? TWC has to show the area anyway for satellite and legacy stars. Its just redundant. Almanac on a national ldl is just silly anyway. Most users don't care about that kind of stuff.

Seriously? Of course they probably thought of this. However the method they use now makes it easier on TWCs end to push advertising. Plus TWC wants to show ads to people not on the IS too. Why send ads to the IS when they are already being shown on screen for legacy STAR viewers?

Why not just move the ad back to the upper-right corner like how it was during the chromakey days? This would end the issues altogether, and you can still see the logos just as good.

Where do your eyes travel to when you are looking at the TV screen on TWC? MOST viewers are looking at their local forecast on the LDL and are going to view the ad more. I kid you not this plays a roll in how they do stuff. TWC is known for testing every little aspect of their network with study groups. Ads stuck in the local wx will get viewed more with more attention payed to it. Plus they spent money and time creating a brand new ldl with a special place for it. Doubt they want to say.... oops well that didn't work!

Gotchya.  Didn't even know they still made Pokemon. Hmm..guess you learn something new everyday. 

They are going to milk the series to death. I enjoyed the cartoon and some of the games back in the day. Now its just childish and dumb to me. The series is just a money making gimmick now imo.

Ok, I know there's WeatherSTAR's I, II, III (3000), 4000, and XL but where does the jr. fall in? Is it just another name for one of the stars or is it in it's own category? 

You probably know this already, but the 3000 was put out of service in 2004. The Junior is text based like the 3000 was and probably belongs with the 4000 in the "sort of low-tech" category. Thats my name for it.

The 4000 was in by no means the low-tech category. It costs quite a bit and the Jr was a cheap alternative for small cables companies who didnt have the money to shell out for it.

I suggest if you ever have to say "you probably know this" then you refrain from posting.

Sadly the emulator uses a strict method for getting its data. MOST offices publish their data in the same format but there are a couple who change things. Sorry about that
