That was odd with the 60sec forecast at the very end. Adam is a hoot!

I can easily do that. What size do you need them?
If you could get them to 52x52 that would be great!

Nice idea Martin, I like how you put a white background behind the weather mods. I was seeing the white halo, but not always.

Not to be rude, but what the heck are you and Martin talking about?
I don't know what he is talking about. What I am talking about is the fact the images I have DO NOT have the white border on them. The white border shows up when the weather badge (the thing under your username) is created. To prove this point, here is your image you provided above with the old one. (I temporarily changed the partly cloudy icon because nobody had mostly cloudy as a CC anymore). As you can see, yes your icon is clearer but the white frame remains.

So I'm in a bit of a dilemma now. I want to stream my Weatherscan XL Emulator and host my videos to a server so badly, but my parents won't open the ports on our router because they say my neighbor who has a Bachelor's in computer science told them that port fowarding is very dangerous. Not that I believe it, but they say that hackers can get into the router, control the host computer, and take their bank account info. :hmm:
Use FME and stream to a streaming service like uStream or JTV.

What pisses me are  these people who are so paranoid of the internet. Sure someone could target you, one of millions of people on the internet and get into your network. Credit card information is transmitted to websites via encryption. You have a better chance of getting ripped off by someone breaking into your house or leaving your wallet somewhere. Ironic thing is these people are usually complete ignorants when it comes to browsing the web and will click any flash icon saying your computer has 900 problems, click here to fix. ~sigh~ Bachelors in computer science my ass. Pardon me but everything has risk, thats life.

I can barely see it. Since the icons on my computer have no such white border I am lead to believe its part of the badge creation process. In which there isn't much we can do. Ill try one other icon from these clearer ones when someone sends them to me and try it out

There is a valve on the floor but its unable to be properly shut off. I feel BP really is the only one doing a thing. BP is only chartering the rigg anyway. The government is sweeping this under the table and protecting their image imo. Seems like they haven't learned much since Katrina with disasters.

Everything Else Classic TWC / Re: Need old logo
« on: May 16, 2010, 11:50:34 PM »
I still say the old logo's better than the new one.

Actually, I still haven't gotten over the nostalgia of watching TWC as a kid.  Boy, those were good days... and, most importantly, The Weather Channel actually reported on the weather!  No movies!  Maybe a weather-related documentary a couple of times a year, but, boy, were they well produced!  ("Force Four" with Marshall Sease about Hurricane Hugo comes to mind.)
Those were the days

Martin, I thought the icons now were the ones I sent you a while back. They don't have white edges when I view them on my computer.
Well they do here. The icons you sent me were from the SDK and thats what I used.

Its more than likely a byproduct of the badge creating process.

The icons are nice, but is it possible to use ones without white edges? :dunno: I know I have some saved on my computer that are very clear, and I'm pretty sure they were made by one of our members (but now I can't remember who :wall:). I know the edges aren't that visible, but I think the clearer ones would look nice, too.
If you can provide them to me and email them to me (@gmail.com) I can take a look at them

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

Flow and incident narration was disabled shortly after the overview maps were introduced. They were put back in place in markets where the overview maps were removed.  Now that the overview maps are gone, I wouldn't be surprised to see the narration for incidents and flow come back.

wait, are the overflow maps gone for good? i thought it was only temporary.

i liked the overflow map feature. :(
Yea its a shame they are gone for good. I had hoped to have them for my area at some point

General Discussion / Re: Hey!

I have been interested in weather for a while as well as the older forecast machines. I have a weather radio and it has the capability to use S.A.M.E. I am also a great gardener and my tomato plant last year gave me about 15 tomatoes if i remember correctly. One more thing is that i have a little experience programing in visual basic 2010, i would say though i am not the fastest programmer though.

I'm growing tomatoes too! I have like... 4 Tomato patches and all 4 are growing tomatoes day by day.
I like growing them and hate eating them. lol
