There in lies the problem. Graphics rating is horrible, especially for what I demand out of my computers. If you play games then yes that is the problem. The CPU is the most taxed part of your PC for encoding and video processing. However I picked up a 280 buck old tower from Circuit City several years ago and its done just fine recording and processing HD video from a tuner. Your problem is choosing to do many other tasks while recording. In fact your biggest bottleneck most likely is your hard drive. Your computer has to constantly write recordings while reading and writing other information. You probably didn't get a 7200rpm HDD in your current laptops. Make sure you get one of those or an SSD.
Yea those lemon policies are great if they let you get a new computer. One of the best things about those dealsQuite a few laptops at Bestbuy with i7 under 1500There's the same laptop I saw at Staples, HP Envy, for about $300 less. Still a lot of money. I may have to stick with HP if they are going to give me a ticket for a new computer.
Oh believe me, I want an i7. Problem is, I can only find one computer with it. Period. A $2,000 computer at Staples... which I do not have the money for. I found a decent computer for the same price I bought my current laptop, with an i5... would that work for what I do with it? I'm curious as to why the computer is that much cheaper. Other thing is too... isn't this the first year that Intel's "i series" has been out? I've always been told it's not a good idea to buy technology that is in its first year.Quite a few laptops at Bestbuy with i7 under 1500
In our case the main site and 8th city had to be the sameFunny you should mention about the 8th city thing. When Brian modified the xl coding to accept emulator data the CC and 8th city data being inputed had to be the same or it would throw a fitOne of the reasons I brought it up was just that I noticed the Petoskey and TC XL's each have their own main city on their 8 city, but not each other, if you know what I mean. So wait, you're saying the main site does or does not have to be on the emulator's 8 city?
So is the LDA only used now when the big LDL is on SD?They most likely will soon.I wish they would trash it all together.
TomorrowSorry that I haven't been around a lot over the past few days guys. I have a had practice graduations, piano recitals and Harborfest (big local festival) thats been keeping me busy. Ill try to catch up on everythingHow exciting! When do you graduate?

I am without a car for a while. My transmission is basically shot, and my car is sitting at a random gas station 2 1/2 hours from my house. My parents are headed up there today to get it with a dolly, and hopefully we can find out exactly what's wrong and (hopefully) get it fixed.
Ugh that sucks about your car!
You have to take into fact that cable companies have to upgrade their lines to support more HD channels. Smaller areas are the last to get the upgrade. Not to mention TWC HD is on the bottom of the list for most cable companies in terms of importanceThe HD STAR won't be just for big cities, as long as your cable company carries TWC HD and you have a STAR unit in your city.It could just be due to the size of the area, but I have not seen TWC HD in any of the locations I've been to in Michigan's Charter territory. I'm doubtful Charter carries TWC HD in any of its area, actually. I can see Charter buying HD STARs for St Louis or Dallas, but certainly not northern Michigan.
