We should probably see it as a blessing, but just to note that the Atlantic has not seen a Category 5 hurricane since Felix, which was back in 2007. We'll have to keep watch on things for the rest of the year, but assuming nothing big really blows up, we could go 5 years without a Category 5 hurricane.
Time sure does fly!

Looks like I may be boarding up windows early next week (hope not).
The Euro shifted east considerably and is actually in line with the GFS for the first time. I'd shoot for a landfall between Mobile and Pensacola based on those two.

Although the hurricane hunters are having a hard time finding a center where the NHC last depicted. Might be further south and west. That could throw a wrench in things.

I also wonder how bad the mountains in Cuba are going to gut Isaac.

If it cuts across the islands its gonna have a hard time surviving. A lot of the GFS ensembles take it somewhere on the east coast. Could be an interesting one!

Well, today is my last day of Summer. In 6 hours and about 55 minutes it will be Monday and Summer vacation is a thing of the past. I'm not ready to go back completely, but being mentally engaged is better than just sitting at home doing nothing I guess. Classes look to be pretty good and I wish anyone who is going back tomorrow good luck!
Sitting at home doing nothing is awesome :P Good luck with your first day back :) Hope you have a great time

I'm sorry but I don't think this is an appropriate topic. This is a very personal matter that you are asking people to divulge in. If you have questions or concerns about a subject like that I highly recommend that you ask your doctor for more information.

One new feature I noticed, is that the Map in your profile can now be changed from a generic map or a satellite view.
Be careful on that runway ;)

As much as i'd like to believe it i've heard mixed stories in the weather community. Plus Accuweathers track record is hit or miss. Granted a lot of people got last winter wrong

NYC got 4.5 in of snow last season.

2012 had a really good start to the year. While it dropped significantly, I think its too early to tell if we will see record lows come September.

Is the signature rotator mod by chance available in the current version of SMF?
Sadly no. It hasn't been updated

Just a heads up around that time or before the forums may be offline for backups and standard maintenance in prep for the upgrade.

Wow, significant indeed. My FOX station currently uses Weather Central for generating weather graphics, so I wonder what WSI is gonna do to stations that use Weather Central.
You cant have every station with the same looking graphics in a single market :P
Well, in my opinion, it's quite obvious that WSI has wanted to stand out in front of Weather Central, especially with their TruVu line of products. In fact, 3 out of 4 news stations in the Tampa-St. Petersburg DMA use TruVu Max on air. :P
Wow! I'm surprised at how tightly integrated the market is there. Its certainly possible that they just axe it.
