General Discussion / Re: Traffic lights
« on: August 13, 2010, 01:49:02 AM »
Is this a red light camera installed on this traffic light (between the first light and no turn on red sign)? This is a new set installed within the past few months. Sorry it's hard to see, caught it with my camera phone.
That's a motion detector sensor to detect traffic so that the light changes properly.  I've seen those in my area, too.
The pic is corrupted but by chance is it a little black sensor? If so its actually an RF receiver for emergency vehicles to change the lights faster.

I find it very interesting how the IS can revert back to icons in any of these circumstances. I guess its just how they updated it :hmm:

Well my cousin got kicked out of school today. He left his classroom and came into mine. He seemed to have a bone to pick with the guy sitting behind me. He came skipping in and said "Hi" and proceeded to beat him up, with markers in his hands to prevent his hands from breaking. Our teacher tried to break it up but they continued, they eventually got pushed into a lamp, breaking the (fluorescent) bulb in it and screwing up the lampshade, as teachers apprehended him, his necklace broke, spilling those little white "shark teeth" all over the floor. As the kid he beat up left the room, he was in the teacher's hands and said "You don't have to hold on to me, i'm not going to do it again." I'm scared of him now. I used to like to hang around him, but now, I want to be as far away from him as possible.
Little brat needs to go to the local detention home!

Anyways, to change the subject a little: Gmail's new design looks icky. I don't like it very much.

Its nasty! Bleh!

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Does anyone know what happened to Chris Warren and Alexandra Steele? Ever since, that "adult oriented Tomorrow's Talker" segment, they haven't been on WC or on TWC ever since.

That was quite the segment. But yeah,as everyone else is saying, they're probably just on vacation.

What was this "segment"? :dunno: And how come Jim is never on...after all, HIS name is part of the show title. :P

Tomorrow's Talker August 2010 Part 2

Haha love it

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Betty Davis - Departure
« on: August 13, 2010, 01:36:35 AM »
I don't believe in just giving lip service to my disgust. I am through watching TWC. If I do watch...it will be to see which advertisers/products I will refrain from purchasing. There is always a way to respond to something you dislike (i.e. the departure of Betty Davis) via your purchasing habits. I will make a list of the products...and make sure I don't purchase them in the future. There is enough diversity of products/services in America...therefore, I will still enjoy the fruit of my buying habits...I just won't buy products that support the TWC.
 Well said

OCMs & Personalities / Re: OCM Layoff- Bill Keneely
« on: August 13, 2010, 01:35:20 AM »
Until he was let go Bill Keneely was the last of the original OCMs and is (was) the longest on air personality to date (28 years). There are three remaining OCMs who've been @ TWC prior to 1990: Jeff Morrow (1985), Jim Cantore (1986) and Vivian Brown (1988).
Jim and Vivian I think are somewhat safe. Not sure about Jeff. Hope TWC doesn't loose him

First, it was The Family Channel, FOX Family and now ABC Family.
Kid shows, family orientated stuff doesn't sell anymore.

A while back we had a bug when upgrading the forum that made all attachments from that point on corrupt. Are you indicating newer uploads from within the past month or so no longer work? If so please post the link/description of them. Thanks

Oh it definitely has some "non-family friendly" television. I've caught some of it. Some of the movies and even some shows are a little too adult for younger children to see
Some? I'd say the non family-friendly shows are the norm, rather than the exception. Aside from "Full House," I honestly can't think of one show I'd let little kids watch.
ABC Family is a pretty putrid channel.  I wouldn't let kids watch either.  Remember  "It's a new kinda family"  The new age of family where everything is excepted.  Regardless of how morally wrong it is. :hammer:
Its sad and sickening

I'll make it short, simple and non-frightening (well, maybe.): I've been diagnosed with Anemia.

My mom is anemic and I think I might be, too. Just take some iron pills. My mom has for over 2 years...that's when she was diagnosed. Anemia isn't too terribly serious. :) Hope you recover, though.
Yea I have a friend with it. It can be serious or not
