I assure you it was not intentional. I am very annoyed at how the changes were made.

I think we've beaten this whole Storm Alert thing to death..
And you don't need to say that. Its already been said and if its been beaten to death, contributing to this topic with that post is not helping

Yep Zach you got my point exactly

I doubt i could host it on a home server lol but how much bandwidth would be needed if i could?  :dunno:  and port 80 is off limits as well for security reasons from Verizon if i could  :P
Running a website on a residential system is not recommended for any situation. Its unreliable and slow even in the best circumstances

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Earl- Storm Train

Goodbye Hurricane Earl. :salute: As of the 11 PM EDT advisory, Earl has been downgraded to a tropical storm with max sustained winds of 70 mph. This storm is weakening rather quickly.
About time they dropped those Hurricane Warnings. Earl is barely a threat to anyone really. Tomorrow should be a nice start to the labor day weekend for folks on the east coast! :)

Not necessarily with pricing but support and feature wise HostGo has fallen behind.
Having suffered through a lot of bad hosts, I'd say HostGo is one of the better ones. True, they're not perfect. No host is. Things happen. Some of it you can avoid, some you can't. It's the overall picture that matters to me. And overall, I have been very pleased with them.

As far as prices and features go, they are definitely the best I've seen. Sure you can get a gazillion MBs of space and bandwidth, and every feature you can think of from Fast Eddy's Hosting for $1 a month....but you're gonna "pay" for it sooner or later. I personally would rather shell out a few bucks more for a reliable host than get the cheapest possible plan I can find.

I don't know if you've had the problems I've had regarding video and audio downloads, but I found out something rather interesting this week. A few months ago, I downgraded my plan to the cheapest one ($6.95/mo). When I got this month's invoice, I noticed I was being billed at my old rate ($14.95). Naturally, I asked HostGo what the deal was. They informed me that some of my PHP scripts were using too many resources, so they had to change me back. I then asked if they could tell me what script(s) were resource hogs.

I was less than surprised to find out that two of them were the ones that people were complaining about (the flash player and audio clip downloader). So I converted all the video and audio links to direct download links. Problem solved (so far)!
Ive worked on optimizing the forum code a little but reliability and speed still sucks. You haven't noticed any problems with the forums? For the site its fine. For something like a forum they seem to be very poor. I'm not bashing them or anything but I am just not happy with the service for the forums. It should not take up to 7seconds at times to generate a forum page. Their database server seems to be the main issue

Those Hurricane Warnings needs to be dropped. No way there will be hurricane force winds anywhere on the US coast.

storm alert was officially over sept 13 2008 at 6 pm (forever) that was the last time we will ever see storm alert on twc  :(
shut up
Dr. Greg Forbes: Apparently we don't go into Storm Alert mode anymore.
Do you really think he knows how you define storm alert? Red lights and different local forecast music or extra coverage?

I can't see that map being correct with transitioning ninos.

Open Chrome > "Customize & Control Chrome" The last button on the right... the wrench :P > About Google Chrome > once clicked you should get this:

On my Mac, I go to the Chrome menu and select About Google Chrome. It checks for an update and says I'm up to date. Screenshot included.

Did it ever occur to you a mac version might not have been released yet
