Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

One of the only reasons i could think that this August Playlist is continuing into September is because of the NFL Opener between the Saints and the Vikings "Magnificent Eleven" just like how "Olympic Spirit" was used until the Olympics ended.
Huh?

I would not be surprised if this new logo goes live for everything. Think FOX News rotating logo.

What phone do you have? It looks like something that's a tiny bit old because that seems like Android 1.6.
T-Mobile G1. It is running Android 1.6, which is the highest officially supported on it. I could root it and install 2.2, but I'm not. :P
Cynogen mod ftw :P

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: ATT U-Verse and STARs...
« on: September 10, 2010, 02:49:07 AM »
Hello everyone.  We recently switched over to AT&T U-Verse because it is surprisingly cheaper and you get more channels.  Of course, it doesn't have a star but it does have a channel right below TWC with an Interactive Weather Application showing Current Conditions, Hourly Forecasts, Day Forecasts, A Radar, Satellite, and in some cities/regions a daily video.  Although it isn't a star, I think it is AT&Ts solution to not having a STAR. So it's not like people with U-Verse are without their local forecast, because they have it.  This also got me thinking, it would be awesome if somehow in the future, TWC had an interactive on-screen weather application.
This is certainly the future. I have to wonder in 10 years+ if stars development will be halted for more interactive applications

I'm with Martin. Don't bother TWC with emails like that when you have insiders (like me and Martin) to tell you exactly what is going on.

I won't anymore, I'm sorry if i caused any trouble.
Nah its perfectly ok! We are just saying don't fill their inbox with all types of questions. I didn't know if Mike was implying that you should ask them about the ldl. Thats all ;)

nope i didn't ask TWC about the ldl (if thats what you were implying) and i certainly do not fill TWC's inbox's with all sorts of questions

i was just thinking it might be in some sort of testing because it was not showing any of the of the LDAs on the HD end.
I wasn't implying that you were. ;)

Another note to add. When you speak to anyone is any type of sales department they aren't necessarily going to tell you the truth. They are going to say whatever it takes to make their product or service seem fantastic and sugar coat any problems with it. I would advise against bothering the TWC Sales department with questions like the ones above.

Hurricane Central / Re: Tropical Storm Igor
« on: September 09, 2010, 07:12:06 PM »
Igor has weakened to a tropical depression with winds of 35 mph at 5 PM EDT.  It's fighting some shear at the moment, but the models forecast the shear to relax over the next few days.  It's going to be a slow developing storm.  Igor is way too far out in the Atlantic for any reliable predictions on the threat to land.
Statistically most storms that form here turn out to sea. That little devil circulation is hurting Igor. Its like a parasitic twin

Ordered a new Dell desktop today. This will be the first desktop I have gotten in 8 years that I will use as an actual computer. Ive gotten a couple cheap towers in the past for servers.  I can't believe they now have 6 core CPUs!! 12 threads! I remember when the PentiumII was super awesome.

Studio XPS 9000
1   317-4541   Intel Core i7 980 Extreme (3.33GHz, 12MB Cache)

Awesome system!
Needlessly overpowered unless you're a gamer, even then, still needlessly overpowered unless you turn it in to a server.... :P
Oh for the amount of crap ill be doing it should be good. As long as I can play pong.... :P
