I don't know why, but i think our ABC affiliate local news will be expanded to 4-7pm to fill in that 4pm hour Oprah is gone. They did that years ago when they expanded to a full hour at noon to take up for the cancellation of a soap opera (Port Charles i think it was) and recently they expanded the news 30 mins. from 5-7am to 4:30-7am.
Quite a few stations are expanding their broadcast hours. Its all a race for ratings, views and money. If you are the first station to start earlier you will get a hike in viewers and some of the those viewers will keep watching boosting ratings. Its also a clever way to manipulate the ratings so that you can advertise your newscast as being #1. Notice how sometimes on your DVR newscasts are named differently or start at odd times (ie 5:35)? It has to do with this

Hurricane Central / Re: Hurricane Igor
« on: September 21, 2010, 09:19:00 PM »
I recall with Earl I think the NHC and Canadian Centre debated when Earl was no longer a hurricane. So disagreements can occur. However the WMO declared the NHC the primary center for tropical forecasts so to my knowledge staff members coordinate with foreign government to issue warnings. While its up to that local government to issue the warnings, I have yet to hear an area to go against NHC recommendations. Is that about right Patrick?

Igor deepened early today as models predicted. It is still a powerful system...

From the last NHC statement:
HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 85 MILES...140 KM...FROM
THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 520
MILES...835 KM.

Wireless router is out, so I am tethering with my Droid. Thing is, tethering will not allow you to visit https:// sites, and it is going SOOOOOOO slow.....

Is that a shared tower or something?

Birthday cake mix, birthday candles, frosting, a candle shaped as a number 3 and a Kai-Lan plushy doll.

...it's my niece's 3rd birthday. *sniff sniff* she's growing up too fast.
Yummy!! :)

Most models take this to at least a TS with a few showing rapid development. Neither are uncommon for this area

Well hopefully when Oprah is discontinued next year, they can put Millionaire at 4pm.
Oh I highly doubt that. The networks aren't going to risk loosing that huge talk show audience by playing a game show in its place. You can almost certainly bet on seeing some other similar type of talk show in its place

I've had the Motorola Droid since February and am in love with it (as well as Android).
Android really is a great OS. I am very interested in Winmo7 though. Looks promising as well :)
