Pretty much so... both Mike and Steph are so popular, they've been given their own segments (Mike = "Open Mike")
I prefer to think of it as a cheap way to do segments and content using in house staff.

Dairy Queen has the Pumpkin Pie blizzard for this month only again.

Excuse me while I refill my freezer.
Got one today. Yummmy!
I'm sure that's pretty good although I'd rather have the real pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top if given a choice.
My stomach hates you right about now :P

A better improvement would to bring back Steele, Davis, and Keneely back, as well.
Which is why I said "OCM choices aside"

Everything Else TWC / TWC Getting Back Into Weather?
« on: October 06, 2010, 02:05:59 AM »
I have noticed a big effort by TWC to bump up the amount of weather coverage they are providing. Severe weather is exempting long form much more often, top of the hour live updates are frequent, and TWC has started to emphasize local on the 8s again. How do you all think they are doing (OCM choices aside)? I think they are slowly improving although there is still much work to be done.

PS3!! Actually I think I use it as a blu-ray player rather than a gaming device. I find I don't really have time to play many games

Why is this top 5 thing getting so many promos? I don't think its worth all the hype its getting  Wake Up With Al ads ran for nearly 18months. Why not run Lightning Rod ads or something.

Tyler btw is having trouble getting on the site since the move. Nothing new that I have heard from him or anyone else. Slowly rolling out but its likely going to be many months before most people get it, if they get it at all. Remember too that your cable company has to actually request it.

cause technology advances practically everyday.

But why should The Weather Channel spend money and resources on developing a new SD Star when standard television has, at least in the opinion of the government, become obsolete?  Even cable/satellite operators aren't going to be required to carry them for much longer (but probably will, at least for the foreseeable future, since HDTV sets are quite expensive).
Standard definition is not obsolete but analog is. The day you see the FCC ban 640x480 broadcasting is when SD will vanish  ;)
The FCC has no power to ban a resolution. It will die the day the cable companies decide they need to ditch the SD channels to free up bandwidth. Cable companies are going to have a rough time ahead

There is a complete code rewrite in the works for the logo generation code to improve logo retrieval performance (i.e. generating times, faster loading). Although it's fast loading already, there's always room for improvement. Once I'm done, I'll load it in to the forums for beta testing before final release, in which I will then release the source code for public use, with support via PM, for use on your own websites.

In the interim, I have fixed the scheduling in the logo so that it follows TWC's programming schedule as of September 27th.

Let me know if logo related issues come up, i.e. blank image, errors pop up when you load the URL directly, etc.
Looking forward to it Jesse :)

Question:

Has anyone ever had a problem with their bank where you make a transaction using your checking account (debit card), and the day after you make the transaction the money is credited back to your checkings? (never charged for that particular transaction).

I seem to be having that issue with my bank and now it's causing a whole bunch of problems because I'm not sure if that money is still there, or if it has actually went through...I have bills to pay, and if I don't know how much i have left, i'm not sure how much of my bills I can pay. my method is to use online banking, that way I don't have to write down all my transactions in a check book. it looks like I may now have to use the checkbook method until I figure out what's going on.

I've called my bank and they basically told me that if the vendor attempted to pull the transaction once and failed to do so, they won't get the transaction money.

Sufficient funds were available at the time of the transactions, and these transactions took place over a week ago, which is more than enough time for it to process.
ohh I had a similar problem. I purchased a new bike the other week. After I made the purchase it was pending then the next day there was no trace of it. About a week later it appeared and my money was finally taken out.  I would just treat the money like it was gone.

It's been raining here since Saturday. Scattered thunderstorms rolled through the area. It caused a couple outages and even put us under some flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings. Tuesday's gonna be a repeat... how exciting, I'm gonna miss another week of softball because the field is too wet.

And sure. I'm about to head to 7-Eleven anyways. :P
Now you are getting a taste of what ive been through!  :P
