The forums have been upgraded to the latest software version. Please report any problems.

Issues we are aware of:
SMF Logo on some themes
Improper gradient on some themes
Weather Data is missing

We will be working to correct these issues as soon as possible

TWC Today News / Experimental: TWCT Wiki

I have been considering adding a wiki to the site for some time because I feel that it would be much easier for users to contribute content and update information.  This is purely experimental at this point and time. I know several users here are avid wikipedia users and I would be thrilled if they were interested in providing assistance with creating and managing the wiki.

While of course the wiki is open for everyone I would like to select a few dedicated members to help manage the effort. Those members would become part of the Content Editor Staff. Please post if you are interested in this effort. I am also looking for feedback on this idea and other thoughts/concerns. As mentioned before this is experimental and its continuation will be based on feedback and participation.

That system is NOT distributed by the FCC. The FCC simply regulates that a station must have X capabilities. To the best of my knowledge the systems are made by various third parties. In the case of the WeatherSTAR/Intellistar the cable companies essentially lease it from TWC. Thats the only reason its illegal to buy. Not because the technology is controlled.

Well, we usually experience a January thaw with temperatures as high as the 60s every year, and this lasts for anywhere from a couple of days to a week.  Hasn't happened yet this year, though, and I think the recent winter storm is to blame.  Actually, we've got much colder air coming in now, so we might have to skip our thaw for the year.   

Should get a nice heavy rain to wash some of that snow away

Its a mix here Verizon or AT&T by 50/50 of people at my school. however Tmobile and sprint are minor compared to Verizon/AT&T in percentage used at my school

Usage and quality are quite different. Verizon has the most subscribers followed by AT&T, Sprint-Nextel, T-Mobile US.

quite honestly, I see it failing on the verizon network. we'll have to see how this works, but i don't think it'll roll over too well.

every person I know who has had verizon hated it, and have switched to AT&T not just for the iphone, but for better coverage in texas.

verizon has horrible coverage in texas, apparently.

Total opposite up here. AT&T sucks and the majority of people have VZ.

According to Rich Johnson on his forums, Alex apparently wanted to go part time and NBC wouldn't allow that.

Why would that lead to a legal issue? If she wants to go part time she has the right to do that.

When you have a contract you don't have rights. You don't agree to paint a whole house then decide that you will just paint 50% of it.

Yes this is also what I was informed of. But my friend couldn't confirm it. As rich mentioned they are being particularly tight lipped on this one.

I imagine it went something like this. Alex wanted to go part time, TWC said no leading to a possible legal battle. You will note TWC employees were explicatively told not to take down her profiles while this was going on.  Leading me to believe TWC intended to make her stay. I would imagine they reached an agreement and settled out of court and Alex ended up getting the boot completely. That would be my best guess on the situation based on the information available.

I wonder why she wanted to step down.

edit: and if this is the case, then Alexandra was not "let go", this topic name may need to be changed.

Alex does has a family. I don't know the age of her child (children?) but I imagine she wants to spend more time with them. With her current schedule she only sees her kids up until around 2pm. If her kids are going to some sort of schooling that means she only sees them until around 8am each weekday. By the time Alex arrives home most likely they are sleeping. Just a thought.

What Alex showed is the forecast for additional snowfall in his area.  Look at the time stamp on the bottom right saying "ending at 1 AM on the 13th".  Many NWS offices now do gridded forecasts like this map for additional snowfall from the current time to the end of the storm.  Always pay attention to the time stamp when looking at things!

But thats a storm total forecast which includes additional snowfall correct? At least that was my understanding
