TWC Today News / New Addition To The Administration

I am pleased to announce our resident meteorologist, Patrick will be becoming part of the TWC Today administration team.  I want to express that he has requested not to be contacted on every issue including site/forum problems. Please respect his wishes!  I expect everyone to treat him as you would any other staff member.

On another note early this morning, the server on which TWC Today operates was breached and the site/forum were down for a few hours. Some items need repairing and its possible a brief outage may occur at any moment today.

A few people suggested I  turn on guest posting similar to what TWCC did. I have done so and set the captcha settings a bit higher. If you notice spam posts report them at once. If it does become a problem I will turn it off or increase the captcha strength.

TWC Today News / Facebook Integration

I am happy to report that I have installed a method that allows for integrating your Facebook account with the forums. This means...

1. New users who have a Facebook account can signup simply by clicking on the Facebook Connect icon at the top of the forum
2. Current users can link their own Facebook with their account
3. Current users can log into the forum (once they link their account) with their Facebook ID. (If you log into Facebook your logged into the site)

To link your account please go to the Profile -> Forum Profile menu. Then under "Modify Profile" select Facebook. From there its as simple as pushing connect!

Please let me know what you think. I am very happy with this mod and think it provides a much easier way to register here at the forum.

Before our unexpected downtime I was intending to get many of the pages up before Christmas. In any case I have converted the classic and current music clip pages.

TWC Today News / Long Downtime

Due to issues beyond our control that consisted of issues with our host, database and forum the forum was forced to remain down for  several days. After hours of work I have gotten things almost back to normal. Images, attachments and other non-core aspects of the forum will remain down for a while but will slowly return. I want  to apologize to everyone who has been affected by this downtime and take responsibility for things. Had I not been working nights I would have perhaps restored the forum a bit quicker. Our host did have restrictions in place due to the errors that were being created so that was another factor we had to take into account. Thank you for your patience and continued support of this site and forum.

We have a few new features you might like here at the forums:

• Signature Rotator (see my signature as an example) Now you can have multiple images in your sig. They will cycle through so you can put more images in the same space. I like it. You will see it listed above your signature settings in your account settings.
• Skype account integration
• When you receive a new PM on the forum you will get a little notification window pop up in the corner of your screen for a few seconds

NOTE: The old theme is still available but no longer will be supported. You can change it in your profile settings
