Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: October 01, 2010, 01:12:42 PM »
I thought the HD LDL has been on before? I saw the commercial and recorded it all real quick but didn't think a whole lot of it. We don't even get TWC HD here yet. Pretty much the only channel we don't get in HD, of course.

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: October 01, 2010, 12:57:31 PM »
What the heck was just going on with TWC about 11:55AM CT? Did anybody else see it? The screen just went green scrambles everywhere except the LDL for a couple minutes. There's gotta be general equipment issues. I don't see anything new coming of this, just a problem somewhere they're trying to fix.

Palmer Drought map must've been messed up the other day because it's back to showing large areas again.

Did anyone else notice the Palmer Drought Severity areas got smaller? Instead of large areas for reports it's now showing parts of counties instead of about 4-10 counties together. So areas where it's dry or wet are much smaller in area than they were. At least that's what Sat Sep 18 is showing.

Programming and Graphics / New Hurricane Earl L-Bar
« on: September 02, 2010, 02:27:05 PM »
Well this is new to me. During the commercials an L-bar full of hurricane Earl info is showing.

246
hey kev does that mean they may be testing the lights for storm alert if earl comes and there hiding that they are going to do it? or are you saying they are hiding that they are not going to do storm alert?
I was just saying the camera angle seemed to fit with the graphics kinda covering it up. I don't watch WeekendNow much at all so I was just making an observation. I just came on here to see if anybody else was wondering about or saying TWC would be in Storm Alert anytime soon. If they do, I doubt it'll be until mid-week.

The main desk hasn't normally been red, has it? Because it is right now on WeekendNOW. So is the floor around it. Doesn't seem to be lit up at all and it looks like they're trying to hide it a bit.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Problem with 031067 again
« on: August 15, 2010, 06:44:05 PM »
031067 for Weatherscan in Topeka, KS is showing Wichita Mid-Continent Airport information for Kansas City International Airport information as well on the ticker. Just realized it was doing it. When ICT changes so does MCI with the same exact information. Thanks! (Now I'm wondering if any other reporting sites are wrong?)

Apparently in 1982. My babysitter turned it on all the time and she said I used to sit there and watch it. Now I can blame her for my weather obsession. At least I know why now.

Thanks star team! Very much appreciate it. This can be locked. Everything for our stars are working great and in order.

Also forgot to ask if you'd check to make sure Falls City and Concordia are set to the right codes/settings or whatever. They're backwards on the ticker. (Out of alphabetical order.) If they're set right could you place them back in order please? Thanks for that too. Now I'll leave you guys alone and take my OCD pills. haha

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / 031067
« on: July 28, 2010, 11:30:01 AM »
Since the topic I started was locked I have to start a new one. :( On Topeka's Weatherscan 031067 I asked the Star team to fix a couple issues, one being an issue with the city of Garnett on our bottom ticker. Ever since then one of our cities in what I'll call the "local" set has been changed to Concordia. I don't remember what city it was. I want to say it was Clay Center but can't remember for sure. Now Concordia is on both the "local" and still on the "regional" sets. Can you please correct this? It'd be appreciated when you can get a chance to. Sorry I can't remember what city it had been on the local set but I remember Concordia always being on regional. Thanks.
Cities on Local:
Atchison, Concordia, Emporia, Fort Riley, Garnett, Holton, Lawrence, Ottawa, Paola, Topeka.
Cities on Regional:
Falls City, Concordia, Kansas City D'twn, Omaha, Parsons, Salina, Sedalia, St. Joseph, Tulsa, Wichita.

Perhaps it had something to do with that "jumping" thing the radar was doing since last week?

Our lower left corner mini-radar is gone now. When the main screen radar came on it popped off and hasn't come back on. Now our main screen radar is saying Temp Unavailable. Wonder what they're doing? Anybody else getting this?
