OCMs & Personalities / Re: Scary to watch...
« on: June 07, 2008, 01:18:12 AM »
Yah, TWCHD has yet to come to Atlanta on cable. We have CNNHD, but we don't have TWCHD quite yet.  :hmm: It better me soon, since every TV in my house is now an HD TV, and watching TWC in SD on an HD TV is torture

Everything Else TWC / Re: New Graphics for all shows
« on: June 07, 2008, 01:16:04 AM »
Awesome. I still haven't seen the FO graphics, and no way I am going to stay up to see the WO graphics, so if someone could post them, that would be great. :thrilled:

All of these new graphical and music themes are very very similar, which indicate they were definitely made by the same company.  I would love to know the graphical company that made the graphics as well as the company that composed the music. Then again, it is still a mystery who composed most of TWC's music from 05-08...perhaps now that it is retired TWC will be more lenient about giving out information regarding that. I'll see what I can do, if you guys are interested.

General Discussion / Re: Question Regarding Video Editing Programs

*Sorry to bump* But moreover, Adobe's trials are not avaliable until July 1.  <_< Which is bad, seeing as I need these capabilities right away.

Awesome, perhaps there is a more easy-to-use program out there for novices that can as well? :P

General Discussion / Question Regarding Video Editing Programs
« on: June 05, 2008, 10:45:38 PM »
Evening guys,
Is anyone here familiar with a video editing program (besides Ulead VS and Sony Vegas) that allows the user to put images over videos? (Images overlaying videos or other images). If so, please tell. B)

Thanks,
Jae

Awesome Steve, thank you very much!  :thrilled:

Could you *perhaps* post each show opener? (FO, DP, WC, PME, and EE?) That would be superb! And, if you reply to this post saying 'yeah, let's do that!,' then I would be very appreciative. B)

83
Right. Just like many other things in this relaunch, it will take some getting used to, that's for sure.

My take on today's relaunch -- AWESOME!  :thrilled:

Thus far, I have only been able to catch DP and EE. I would love it though if later on, someone could post all show openers on YouTube? That would be great! :) The music on DP is alright, whereas the EE music is terrible!  VERY repetitive music, almost as if it was a :10 clip that was vamped! :\

Moreover, I am still seeing some mixups between the new fonts. Apparently, TWC is no longer themeing the Intersate font. Now, it seems as if the Heveltica font is the new trend. The new radar is still showing some cities with the Interstate font, and so are some of the other graphics. I think that is a problem, but I know they'll fix it.

Also, the utilization of live bugs are so important,  IMO. The fact that they are only using them for live shots sickens me, and I hope they will make one soon that is perhaps in the upper-right corner so it doesn't interfere with the new radar titlebar.

The usage of two-person L3RDS are also very important, IMO. I am very glad we are finally seeing those. :) The new L3RD's themselves are very plain, which isn't a bad thing at all. I am still a lover of the 2005-2007 show L3RDs though.

The maps are amazing! It appears as if our prayers of simplicity have been answered. B) Thank you, TWC! :)  The only problem is, the cities are displayed in "squares" which block the surrounding areas, if that makes sesne.?

Even though this launch seems to be going great, the non-utilization of key walls will take some getting used to.  :hmm: However, it all seems to be going great and I'm sure over the next few weeks the minor flaws will be fixed and done correctly.

Tell me if anyone agrees with my points! :)

P.S. What ever happened to Jennifer Lopez leaving TWC? Also, who are the new anchors of FO?

Ah - interesting - but why update the SD IntelliSTAR LDL when an HD relaunch is on deck?

I am so freaking excited!, I will definately be tuning in in the morning. My area (Atlanta) already has what appears to be the TWC|HD LDL, which is blue and features animation (Im sure you all have that as well). That alone is getting me very pumped for tomorrow!  :shades:

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Kim Perez moving to Day Planner?

I'll bet someone $1,000,000 that we are going to see a brand new OCM here very soon.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Yet another anchor swap?

The new OCM parings are very strange; I was shocked to see Nick Walker on yesterday afternoon. Figured I'd check TWC Today to find out what the hell was going on!

Accordingly, TWC is going to need to hire atleast one or two new personalities, especially after Jennifer Lopez leaves next month. Hopefully we can get some good meterologists in there who know how to behave and not molest others.

Moreover, hopefully we can get some good (LOOKING) meteorologistas. :P :D

Everything Else TWC / Re: The Weather Channel | HD Discussion

After just catching time for TWC since school has ended for me, I must say, everything looks beautiful thus far. Personally, I am going to miss the newsroom in the back of the studio. That was always fun to have, and is always fun to apply to a studio set, IMO. However, the colors nonetheless are astonishingly sassy and goregous; the HD promos look good (A+) and I will definately be tuning in on June the 1.  :thrilled:

A couple of propisitions: Could someone post the new YWT/EE logos (snapshots of them from the promo, etc)?  Also, what is the verdict as to what other shows will be premiering in HD at the same time?  I am curious as to what will occur: will Day Planner, Weather Center, etc. be broadcasting in SD in the old (*current*) studio on June 1? Or will they be broadcasted in SD from the HD set?

Moreover, I would love to know what else is in the new building besides the HD set. I am curious as to what production styles will be unvieled on June 1 as well as a possible revamping of production methods and structure/setup. There is still much in the way of missing links to this relaunch: I guess all of my questions will be answered next week! :)
