Programming and Graphics / Re: Your Weather Today - times a-changin'
« on: October 20, 2008, 10:27:38 PM »
I think Carl would be an excellent replacement for Marshall on YWT. His 'weekend and fill-in' position right now is much too weak concerning his persona and on-air talent. He has great on-air comfort and style; he always has a way of explaining things to how an average viewer could understand, and he also goes the extra mile during his presentations to explain outside information (indicating to me he loves meteorology and his job with a passion)

I don't think Bill or Kevin need to fill in for Marshall, I rather they stay with their weekend slots. Dave would also be a weak cantadate for the YWT position, as well as Nick Walker and others. I think the main weekday morning slot should be assumed by someone who is very serious and formal when it comes to meteorological weather presentation aspects. Bill K. doesn't seem to have this seriousness to me, and neither does Dave.

Perhaps YWT will be an all-woman show, with Nicole and Heather as the main anchors and Eboni Deon or another fill-in anchor becoming the new travel anylist? However it unfolds, we will probably be seeing some new faces on TWC sometime real soon.  :itsok: :D

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: October 20, 2008, 10:20:40 PM »
I like the PME theme, but it doesn't seem to have much depth besides the starting portion followed by the same part repeating over and over again. Is there more to it that I haven't heard?

BTW, I don't mind the bumper music playing over the openers; it's the production music playing over the openers that I absolutely hate.

I agree. And to me, It appears as if the PME theme is probably a one, one1/2 or 2 min cut that is divided up into different segments. I am still looking to gather clips to try to piece the entire theme together.

I actually like how they play the bumper music over the opener...it gives us a chance to capture all of the bumper without voice over. I love the new PME theme...it's awesome, if anyone has captured anything worthwhile, I would love to hear it. It seems to me as if the PME theme is just one track chopped up into different segments.

I honestly don't like either of the canadites ideas. However, i think this picture should make any honest American think twice about voting for Senator Obama:

Any good FO music segments? :D

Great banner! :) This is certinanly one hell of a storm and it looks as if it is coming close to brushing up against the borders of being "worst case scenario" here for the state of LA. Any hurricane that puts Houston AND New Orleans under the gun is one that will certinaly raise hell.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of coastal TX/LA/MS/AL. God bless you all!

Everything Else TWC / Re: The Weather Channel | HD Discussion

Goodbye, old studio!  I loved that studio from the first day I saw it. IMO, the backdrops, the newsroom and the plethora of camera angles made for a great nationally-broadcast studio. I will certainly miss that studio. Not that the HD Studio is bad, but it will certainly take some getting used to. Studio 1A and 1B were amazing...god bless!

I wonder what they will do with the ol' joint. From the looks of that final behind-the-desk shot, it looks as if things have cleared out behind the cameras of 1A. Anyone else notice that? I also wonder what has become of 1B.  The old studio really became sketchy after the HD launch, due to the fact behind-the-scenes shots were never used after 6/1/08 there.

Oh well, farewell!  :itsok:

I LOVED studio 1B...esp. the camera angle shots that incorporated both the large and side backdrops. Anyone remember those?

For those who still anxiously check this thread ( :P ), instead I have created a YouTube channel, consisting of many clips from TWC in 2006 and early 2007. You can check it out here: www.youtube.com/jae399

Enjoy, and if you have requests, let me know!  :cool3:

Programming and Graphics / Post Yo Clips! I am making a Filefront.
« on: July 28, 2008, 09:11:55 PM »
Hey everybody! I am in the process of creating a massive filefront site that deals with ALL TWC segment openers starting from the 05 Relaunch up until the present. The site will have show graphics, show segment openers and show music. I have everything from the 05-08 era, including music and graphics of ALL shows. B) However, before I open up the filefront site, I want to try to get some clips of the new HD openers and graphic segment openers for each show. Also, I would love to acquire some music segments from the shows as well. For those who are avid recorders of TWC, I was hoping you guys could help me out.  I am also particularly interested in music clips of the new TWC shows, so please post any if you have them! (i.e. there were quite alot of long drawn-out music segments of the WC music today during WC).   This filefront is almost up and running and I need YOUR help to make it sucessful!  :cool3:  ;)  All openers/music are copyright TWCI. :)

This is just a little poll I wanted to start to see how many of us are able to watch TWC|HD. These should be some interesting statistics.  B)

OCMs & Personalities / Re: Bob Stokes:"It Wasn't Me!"
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:37:09 AM »
Wow, for god's sake, there is VIDEO EVIDENCE that he sabotoged her work on-air. Did anyone see the TMZ clip about that? There's proof that Bob is lying right there. I strongly support Hillary Andrews in this case...she was one of my favorite OCM's and if it wasn't for this creep she'd probably still be working at TWC.  :( :hmm:

OCMs & Personalities / Unofficial Information about Jeanetta Jones
« on: July 21, 2008, 10:54:53 AM »
I remember awhile back in late 2006, Mike Seidel was mentioning during a travel segment about how 'a fellow OCM got in a car accident, so please be careful and remember how it can happen to anyone' (something along those lines). Turnes out, according to kapturedforyou.com message boards, Jeanetta Jones suffered serious injuries in a car accident in Macon... link here:
http://kaptured.netfreehost.com/viewtopic.php?t=4819&highlight=jeanetta+jones&mforum=kaptured

However, it says how she would be returning to her job (ofcourse, that never happened). So my assumption is she quit.

Sorry if this has been posted here before, just wanted to pass that along.  B)
