Local Forecast / Re: Intellistar Weather Warning Suggestion and Graphics
« on: September 21, 2010, 01:18:58 AM »
When a severe weather warning is crawling across the screen, I highly doubt the average viewer cares about space during the Local Forecast.  A severe weather warning means we all tune into a radar to see what is going on and how/when it's going to affect us.  TWC has proved and does this with hurricanes, they can do the same for local warnings.  Especially with their technology and the I-Star.

Local Forecast / Intellistar Weather Warning Suggestion and Graphics

First of all, I do not frequent these boards often.  If this has been brought up before, please forgive me.  Not exactly sure if the Intellistar will ever receive another update to it's graphics, however one very important thing lacks during weather warnings... a local radar.  I have always thought that when a Severe Weather Warning is scrolling across the bottom, it should be accompanied by a Local Radar at the left of the screen.  It would be especially beneficial to the viewer when long-form programming is on-air and Local Forecasts are few and far between!

While on the subject of graphics, will the I-Star ever receive an update to the LDL on the Local to match the LDL used on-air?  It seems TWC lacks in this area when it comes to making the Local Forecast match it's current on-air graphics.  Also, is it not possible to show weather alerts on the smaller version of the LDL used on-air?  Again, I truly believe this information is vital to the viewers.  The smaller LDL seems to be used more often and provides less information than the larger one.

Our IntelliStar is finally back.  I was tired of seeing the national LDL.  I must say, the national LDL is rather ugly in comparison.  Any of you with older WeatherStars, I can truly understand your frustration of not seeing your local conditions at the bottom of the screen!

Are the Intellistars still down?  Ours is still out.  Does anyone know any details on what happened or when they might come back online?

My apologies! This can be disregarded if it's a National outage.

Thanks!
