Programming and Graphics / New Show: "Coast Guard Florida"
« on: March 15, 2012, 07:57:15 PM »
The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) announced today it has greenlit the new original docu-series "Coast Guard Florida," produced by Al Roker Entertainment (ARE). The series will premiere on The Weather Channel in October 2012 and will feature 13x 60-minute episodes. Al Roker and C. Russell Muth will serve as co-executive producers. This original concept will take full advantage of the significant audience The Weather Channel brand
has on television, web, mobile and tablet.

"Coast Guard Florida" will follow the men and women of the 7th Coast Guard District who are charged with keeping America's ports secure and waterways safe, stemming the flow of illegal narcotics, securing the southeast border, protecting the environment, enforcing maritime laws and treaties and saving those in peril on the sea. The danger, drama and excitement will grow out of the assignments coming from three bustling Coast Guard Bases located in Clearwater, the Keys and Miami/Everglades. The 7th Coast Guard District area of responsibility (AOR) spans 1.8 million square miles with more than 9,500 miles of shoreline, and borders 34 nations or independent territories. There is a fleet of approximately 2,000 commercial vessels that are inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard within the 7th District AOR, and there are about two million recreational boats within the AOR. The 7th District Commander has 39 cutters, 190 boats and 36 aircraft at his disposal to accomplish the U.S. Coast Guard missions in this dynamic AOR.

The Linkin Park is still on the playlist and songs seem to be playing all day instead of having separate playlists for different day parts.

Yeah that LInkin Park song is it bit to much and should be rotated out of the list.

I agree with you that it will be an LCD monitor wall where each each display content or all the monitors can display content.
My guess would be 3 rows of 4.

Lighting was adjusted today and keeps changing every show.
Here's 9am, 12pm and 4pm.

Why the lighting keeps changing every hour only TWC can tell us.
Again I don't know why but the entire HD studio has been under lit since around the time they started to take down the video wall.

Dr. Forbes is in for PM Edition tracking the severe storms in the south.

Saturday 1:18pm ET Depeche Mode "Never Let Me Down Again" [Aggro Mix]

The song played twice at 4:28 and 4:38pm ET Sunday.
Is there any check in the music playback system to make sure songs don't repeat?

The desk has been turned so video wall area which is being upgraded is no longer in back of it with the green screen in front of the desk
Here's the old and new placement, now the video wall is on the left and the green screen is to the right of the desk.

For 11am-5pm they are using the DMC today.

So much wasted space on the National HD feed since they don't format for 16:9.
This layout is useless and should only be using during storm coverage.
