I understand what you are saying but this is the only Weather Channel show that has this problem.
MSNBC broadcasts from the same building as Wake Up With Al, they show guests on an LCD monitor in studio and there is no audio and video delay.

While I understand why they are airing taped programming, there's more ways to get weather on the internet and mobile devices, one statement I don't like in the article is "Eventually, however, the goal is to expand to three hours of entertainment programming in prime time, and also air some of those shows during the day, he said."

Using the current schedule that would mean WCL at 7pm ET,  taped programming 8pm-11pm ET, WCL at 11pm ET and 12-3am  ET taped programming. Would they start First outlook early or air taped programming at 3am ET?

Going three hours between live shows is a big mistake.

I'm ok with the current two hours between live programming.

They need to fix the 2 second audio and video delay on the HDTV in the studio.
Any time someone on the monitor talking it's 2 seconds behind.

To the left of the video wall they have added a Perceptive Pixel touch flat screen.
NBC must have made a big purchase of them because the new WNBC studio and Wake Up With Al in NYC now use the same touch screens.

With Scott Williams gone and Alex Wallace off today Todd Santos did First Outlook solo.
This seems to be the trend with the 1am ET WCL to.
If one of the regular OCMs is off or filling in on the earlier WCL shows then it's just one OCM at 1am ET.

Yes, Warren's other job is hurricane hunter with the Air Force Reserve.

Warren Madden earned a degree in computer science from MIT while on an Air Force ROTC scholarship. He convinced the Air Force to send him to Penn State to earn a bachelor's degree in meteorology, after which he worked in Dayton, Ohio, as an Air Force meteorologist. Later he took a position as weekend meteorologist at WHIO-TV in Dayton and earned a master's degree in computer science from Wright State University. He joined the national media in 1996 as a meteorologist for the Weather Channel. In 1998, he joined the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters as a weather officer and is an instructor with the squadron, recently working with Lockheed Martin to write the software used on board the WC-130 aircraft. The Hurricane Hunters have been deliberately flying into the worst of bad weather since 1944; learn more at www.hurricanehunters.com.

There's not much chasing going on for the next couple of days.
"@DDwx: The #TornadoHunt crew is here in Joplin MO for the next few days in coverage of the 1 yr remembrance of the May 22, 2011 EF-5 tornado."

They are not chasing today hrough at least mid week.
If I'm correct they are not adding an extra week to make up for the week off. So there are two weeks left in the Tornado Hunt.

Could Carl Parker get a promotion to full time Tropical Storm expert?
Last tropical storm season he mostly did reports on the tropical storms and severe stormsfrom the expert desk and went back to 11am-2pm when the tropical season was over.
Since the day time schedule changes he is back in the expert role.

They really need to check the song rotation schedule.
The same song played 6:58am, 7:08am, 8:58am, 9:08am, 9:28am  ET and another song was played at 7:28 & 7:48am.

A new song at 4:08pm ET "Bless the Broken Road" Rascal Flatts.
