Since they do format taped programming for the LDL is really is no need to put programming in a smaller box as I doubt the scroll takes up much more space..
Not to mention the areas effected by the storm are already getting the NWS alert scroll in the LDL area.

TWC is hyping their next winter storm by keeping the scroll on during long form.

It seems they rushed to do this as the background graphic appears to show the art and text safety area marks.
Also it makes no sense to put the video in a smaller window if they are not going to put the LDL on screen all the time.
Keep the video full size and have the scroll at the bottom.
If the storm is going to be this bad do live coverage and take this stupid episode Ice Berg Hunters off.

There's another format used just now where they went programming to commercials, a live preview of the next segment on WLC then to the LOT8's,  a 30 second commercial then back to programming.

I'm noticing for the 6pm hour of WCL they are using the format of Wake Up With Al and AM Rush where they go from programming to the local forecast then the commercial break. Is this going to be the standard for format for all live programming?

The last LOT8s at 6:58pm was only 60 seconds.

At 7pm they are back to airing 2min of commercials before the LOT8s.

The updating of the 7 Day Forecast graphics seems to a part of getting all the remaining graphics and maps updated to the new graphics package.

I don't like the updated 7 Day Forecast graphics.
The whole fake CGI wall with the lights at the bottom is cheesy and the angle of the map is annoying as is that light flare on the top left. The ocean color is creepy.

It's 9 new series for 2013 with "Reef Wranglers" and "Hacking The Planet" starting this month and 4 more premiering in March.
 
Could they get any more unoriginal with "Loaded"? There are already two trucking shows on other cable channels.

"Reef Wranglers" from the promos appears to be a stupid character driven show like that awful "Iceberg Hunters".

So much for that statement from the new person in charge of programming that the long form shows would actually be about weather.
