Dr. Greg Forbes is on early as TWC is talking about this news from a press conference on the El Reno, Oklahoma tornado.

"The National Weather Service has upgraded the tornado that struck El Reno, Okla. on Friday to EF5, and with a width of 2.6 miles, it is now the largest tornado on record, packing radar-estimated winds of at least 296 mph."

Mike's crew is very fortunate as TWC is reporting 3 chasers did not survive the  El Reno, OK tornado.

TWC is live all day. They sent Chris Warren to Albany, NY to cover the potential severe storms.

TWC ended coverage at 2am. CNN is live all overnight.  TWC is going to be live all day Saturday.

Thursday TWC was commercial free for the 4pm hour.
Dr. Forbes came on early in the 4pm hour joining Dr. Greg Postel who was on all afternoon.

Friday TWC is scheduled to be live to 11pm if not longer if there is still severe weather.

I don't have a problem with TWC not being live 24/7. There are many other places you can get weather besides TV now compared to when TWC started.

My issue is the long form programming having almost nothing to do about weather.
TWC should be producing new episodes of their shows that are about weather like Storm Stories.
We don't need reality shows about people prospecting and fishing.

Remember this from October 2012,
"The details on the dayside lineup are scarce, but Weather acting head of TV Sharon Scott said at the meeting that the network will be moving to a new talk show format during dayside early next year."

TWC is going to be live to at least 11pm if not through the overnight.
There is a special on the tornadoes at 9pm ET.

I haven't heard any vocal music this morning so far.

Checked 4pm and 7pm and they are only playing instrumental songs from the current mix of songs playing on the LOT8s.

Mike Bettes said they are most likely going to sleep in their cars because they might not be able to leave the area and if they did leave they may not be able to come back in to the area.
