Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: July 26, 2012, 04:03:05 PM »A YouTube user commented how one of the songs on the June playlist would be fitting as a Storm Alert Theme. I would have to agree with him. This sounds a lot like a fitting storm alert theme or a winter storm warning theme.
Bumblebee - Steve Jablonsky
If only they removed the vocal music for movie music like this i'll be happier with the playlists.

General Weather Chat / Re: Early Fall and August Outlook

TWC should've made a darker shade of blue (40 degree color) for below average.

Update From Xfinity
So basically i will hopefully get a new update in September on the IS2 status.

I can tell you that it’s not going to happen “anytime soon,” but it’s something that we’ll consider for our next round of HD additions. Sorry there isn’t any more specific information available. Rest assured that your feedback has been passed along to our programming team.

General Weather Chat / Early Fall and August Outlook
« on: July 23, 2012, 06:13:08 PM »
Here's the Outlook
Quote
The August forecast map shows that temperatures will be the farthest above average right in the middle of the country from northern Oklahoma and much of Kansas to southern Minnesota and eastern South Dakota.
A larger area of above-average warmth is expected to surround this zone extending eastward into the Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. Much of the interior West is also forecast to see temperatures above August averages.
The far eastern and western states will act as bookends to the central warmth with temperatures expected to be a bit cooler-than-average in these areas.

Programming and Graphics / Re: This is not your grandfather's weather channel
« on: July 23, 2012, 03:38:46 PM »TWC needs ratings and money to go forward as they're a private-sector company. They're going to appeal to the mass majority, which unfortunately don't care much about learning how the weather works and what's going on most of the time. Some people are entertained to see all those long-form shows. Blame society more than TWC here for not wanting to explore and understand about meteorology more.Complaining about TWC more will just add more fuel to the fire. It's best to just live with whatever TWC throws at us when it comes to programming. Please no more complaining, mmkay?
Or just don't watch TWC anymore altogether.

IntelliStar 2 Discussion / Re: General IS2 Discussion
« on: July 16, 2012, 04:12:26 PM »Looks like Massachusetts isn't getting the IS2 anytime soon, Xfinity hasn't ordered any units for the New England Area yet. That stinks!
I talked with TWC and they told me it's in Xfinity's hands now, and said there is nothing more they can do on their end after the necessary configurations were sent to Xfinity.

Emulator Videos / Re: gt1racerlHDl's International Configs
« on: July 16, 2012, 03:30:51 AM »Wow - I never thought I'd see a 4000 set up for international use like that before in the TWC format! Great work!
Glad you liked it! i was thinking about doing this for awhile and finally got time time to complete it this week.
It was very interesting watching, and much appreciated. My guess is that you used actual observations instead of just making things up - must have been quite a lot of work.
It started getting tough when i was finding ICAO sites that weren't found in the NOAA server but i found closer int'l sites which helped make these emulations possible.

« on: July 15, 2012, 10:43:41 AM »I already knew that international cities worked for the regional conditions, but what about the regional forecast?
I already posted the reason below i used the closest US States for their regional forecast. Carribean (Florida) Mexico (Texas, Mississippi, California) Canada (Northern US States) i could send you the configs if you want them.

« on: July 15, 2012, 10:39:32 AM »How were you able to get international forecast cities?
Int'l Stations
http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/surface/stations.txt
I used cities in TX, CA, FL etc for the regional cities and put the real locations City name and ICAO codes from that link from Mexico, Canada & the Caribbean.
