General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch
« on: June 30, 2009, 06:07:10 PM »
Well, I got very close, but I was not selected for the NWS job opening in Wilmington, NC as another person had more computer skills than me. :hmm:  My interview at least did go well in their eyes.  It turns out that I was applying for a very highly sought after office due to its coastal location, which made the job interview extremely competitive.  I have an application for the NWS job opening in Caribou, ME right now, so I should have a better shot with that place as it's not quite as appealing.  I really hope that some more opportunities open up these next few months so that I have more chances to finally land a meteorology job. :(

Good luck Patrick, im sorry they did that to you.

myself, i am going to try that Summer program at NWS Taunton if i can still get in there even though I'm a Sophomore (Juniors-Seniors College students only)

Surprising news

Here is our Local On The 8s music playlist for July.   I apologize for the delay in sending this out, however the songs just cleared performing rights today.

Please note that there are now 4 tabs on the spreadsheet instead of 3.    Beginning July 1st, we have added a fourth daypart:

Overnight plays from 1am to 6am.  (formerly 1am to 5am)
NEW:  Morning Daypart plays from 6am to 12pm
Daytime playlist plays from 12pm to 8pm (formerly 5am to 8pm)
Prime Time playlist plays from 8pm to 1am (same as before)

The online play list may take some time to change from a 3- to a 4-part sheet, but you have the most up to date here

Enjoy!

Maybe your headend expanded and they chose New Bedford since it's centered on it's viewing area?

I guess your right Mike they expanded the headend, The cool thing about it is i get a better metro map, new radar cities and i see fall river on the CC cities more often.

Fall River IntelliStar has been Discontinued

Now it is all New Bedford
I thought New Bedford and Fall River had always been served by the same STAR, hence why the forecast was for "Fall River/New Bedford."

Not no more now my IStar only serves New Bedford now  :(

I can't believe an icon in his profession left us so early.

Tampa police said Mays was found unresponsive by his wife Sunday morning. A fire rescue crew pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m. It was not immediately clear how he died. He said he was hit on the head when an airplane he was on made a rough landing Saturday, and Mays' wife told investigators the TV personality didn't feel well before he went to bed that night.
