OCMs & Personalities / Re: Maria LaRosa hired by TWC
« on: June 28, 2010, 01:12:34 PM »
Maria is coming back from maternity leave! According to her FB, she was going to make an appearance on Day Planner between 11 and 3 PM ET. Anyone got a chance to catch her? (I just woke up. :P)

Yep, she came on during the 11pm hour to talk about the wave heights and precip in the area of the gulf where the oil spill.

and Heather said : If anyone noticed the last time you saw maria she had a bump, she's back after giving birth to a beautiful baby boy.

Edit: she just appeared @ 1:20pm EDT

Everything Else TWC / Re: Blooper Thread

During the 11:30 AM ET segment of DP, they showed an old Projected Path graphic with hurricane watches and warnings on the Florida east coast (the path looked like it was from Andrew in 1992, I think). Heather quickly skipped by the graphic after realizing that it wasn't the correct graphic.

That was too funny, here's the pics.

Was the outdoor activity forecast discontinued? I haven't seen it on my STAR in nearly a year, even after the traffic maps being discontinued. I still, however, see the schoolday forecast during the school year.

Maybe if Traffic Flow only was allowed to show up when Traffic Report is shown, then maybe you would be able to see OAF

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Comcast Sucks.
« on: June 27, 2010, 05:16:58 PM »
Well, the first few days of having Comcast have been pretty good for me.  I'm not sure what I'll think over the next months, but at least the installation process was pretty painless except for the long wait for the guy to come hook everything together.

That's one of the joy's of having comcast  :P

i love how everyone was complaining that they weren't doing enough coverage...and now people seem to think that they're going over board. get over it.

I Totally agree, TWC did normal coverage before the long form weekends were issued and i don't know why everyone thinks the "Normal Weather" coverage is too much.

Be thankful TWC is doing coverage because this time next week the whole "long form shouldn't be on Friday nights - Weekends" argument will stir right up again.

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

1. A LOW PRESSURE AREA CENTERED BETWEEN THE NORTHEAST COAST OF HONDURAS

SURFACE PRESSURES ARE FALLING. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE GRADUALLY
BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT...AND THE SYSTEM IS LIKELY
TO BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION BEFORE IT REACHES THE YUCATAN
PENINSULA IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE...70
PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.  AN AIR FORCE RECONNAISSANCE PLANE IS SCHEDULED TO
INVESTIGATE THIS DISTURBANCE LATER TODAY TO DETERMINE IF A TROPICAL
CYCLONE HAS FORMED.
