So Al and Gil, let me try to understand your logic. What your telling me is that it has to happen or else you won't protect yourself from it? That's like saying you'll get gas AFTER you run out, or install smoke detectors AFTER your house burns to the ground.
Exactly, it makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever.
Agreed.

Should i make a new topic "Do you keep your computer on during a thunderstorm?" :P
OR, you couldn't and say you did. :P

No Gary, thats not the same thing AT ALL. you couldn't have picked a worse analogy. There are so many more factors to back up my beliefs on the surge protection issue. :D

Well nothing has happened yet, so why do i have any reason whatsoever to worry? Power surges are very rare here (whether its weather related or not). Once something gets damaged, THEN i'll be much more catious. Until then, absolutely nothing wrong. Everything is on a surge protector anyway. (the expensive ones too)

I've never turned off my computer during bad storms. Up until a year ago, i didn't know you were supposed to.

Never had any storm-related damage to my equipment...

Well, my cat loves 80's music...

Maybe if my cat started displaying weather information on the 8's, then i would name her after a STAR. lmao.

Hearing Roadrunner by Boney James, literally for the first time this month. Has anyone else like never heard this song yet this month?

Something tells me it only airs during special programming.

There is a WeatherSTAR 4000, 2 hours (200 km) away from me, in Canada! (Montreal, Quebec) and I plan on buying it!
Which you will then sell directly to me. We can discuss a price. :D
