Trying to get an idea of what would be a smarter buy. I've posted this in several forums, so i'm quoting it.
I also realized that PowerPC is being phased out by Apple, so newer apps won't be compatible.

At first, I was thinking about a MacBook Pro, since it's pretty "bitchin" and very powerful. My other option, would be an iMac. I've never only used an iMac about twice in my life, and it was the original Bondi. Seeing as portability is not essential, a desktop would give me more power. Or would it (I'm asking)? I feel that if I had a MBP, it would have a far greater chance of getting wrecked somehow, such as being dropped. Also, iMacs are relatively compact for a desktop.
So, with that said, I would really appreciate any help with making the right decision!
