I'd like to get a MacBook sometime. Not sure that I'll be able to afford one anytime soon though.  :(
If you're on a tight budget, maybe you could get a Mini. If you already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, you're in business the minute you get it.

Al, i'f your going to use it for college, definitely wait. Once your actually in college, you can get a discount, which would help if you wanted to get a more expensive Mac.

Gary, I have Photoshop 6 on my Performa 6400. Not sure what 7's requirements are, but anything 6 or under would work.

if it meets the system requirements of the software, it will work. Though the amount of memory and drive space will affect how well it runs.

Software is software, no matter what platform, no matter how old. If it meets the requirements it will work. Macs are no exception.

Well, using common sense and the name of the group, I'd be willing to guess that the purpose is to watch the weather...

I don't want to get a MacBook, because it just isn't powerful enough. I would be getting the MBP if i got the notebook. I'm just extremely worried about it getting wrecked or something. Maybe I will have my parents buy the MBP and buy the iMac for myself or something... I don't know.

I cannot make up my mind for the life of me.

Well yes and no. If I had an important file that i created on my iMac (if that's what i choose), I would want to be able to use/edit it on my iBook, if i were to travel or something. Technologically speaking, that won't be possible, seeing as my iBook can't run most newer apps.
