No, it never has, and hopefully never will. It's so unbelievably unnecessary.

Another reason to hate Microsoft. They always find new ways to piss the crap out of people. Whenever i install XP, that music is always really loud, and theres no option to disable it or turn down the volume, UNTIL you go completely through the setup.

And thats Reason #472 why I use a Mac :)

The bar on top is the VBI. You're actually seeing the data thats going into the STAR. It's the same data that controls the STAR. My TV Tuner shows it, as well as the one in my Mac.

I think it's good that it shows it. If it doesn't, you have a crappy TV Tuner. :D

What is the "fizzle effect"?

I've actually considered getting a used Intel Mac Mini (from eBay) to use as a media server or entertainment center since it's a small enough computer to fit inside my TV cabinet.
Hah, i read something on the net a week ago, someone did just that, but with a Power Mac 6100 (the very first power mac). It was just as effective as a Mac Mini. He wrote custom software for it and everything.

Its not very powerfull though. If you don't plan on doing many intensive tasks/programs, a mini would be an offordablesdasegasg option.

K, i think what i'm going to do... I'm going to get the MacBook Pro, but also get a keyboard, mouse, and Cinema display, build a homemade dock, and use it as a desktop, except when i need mobility.
