Amazed at how much it cleared up. Almost clear skies after having heavy rain, near hurricane force winds and 100% cloudy skies.

The problem is...there's people out there who make up this $#!* about all this stuff like how the world is going to end or other things like HAARP. What's even worse is when very uneducated people around my age believe this stuff. Not saying if you believed the world is going to end that you're stupid, you're not, no one really knows what will happen, so the best choice is not to believe. The only predictions I trust are weather forecasts. Moral of the story...people are stupid.

High Wind Warning in effect. 18z GFS has wind gusts over hurricane force on Long Island tomorrow morning. 00z NAM has gusts topping 70mph. Might get some nasty gusts in some thunderstorms.

... High Wind Warning in effect from 4 am to noon EST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect from 4 am to noon EST Friday. The
Wind Advisory is no longer in effect.

* Locations... the New York City metropolitan area... coastal and
southeast Connecticut... and Long Island.

* Hazards... damaging wind gusts.

* Winds... southeast 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* Timing... late tonight into Friday morning.

* Impacts... winds of this magnitude could down trees and tree
limbs... power lines and Holiday decorations... and cause minor
property damage. Numerous power outages will be possible.
Driving high profile vehicles will be difficult... especially on
elevated roadways and bridges.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Residents should
secure loose outdoor items such as garbage cans and Holiday
decorations.

or gusts of 46 to 57 mph... are expected or occurring. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

Thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow morning, primary threat to be strong gusty winds that the storms could produce but also the winds from the entire system. Could gust as high as 60mph with 850mb winds ~ 85mph.
