29.0°F Overcast

Last time we had a good snow event, other than a 4" event in Nov which was pointless, was 1 year ago today. If we exclude November snowfall, we only had 0.9" of snow this entire season. Last year we had at least 3.6" of snow to date.

A strong cold front will cross the region this afternoon. The
passage of the front will be marked by a wind shift from gusty
southwest winds to a period of strong westerly winds. Winds of 20
to 30 mph and gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected in the wake of
the frontal passage... with a few higher gusts possible right
behind the front.

Winds this strong are capable of Downing a few small tree limbs
and branches... possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving
can also be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.

It's more than 100°F warmer here if those wind chill values verify. Sitting at 55°F now, busting the original forecast high of only 47°F.

MIND = BLOWN! :fire:

SREF has a 45-50% of 8"+ of snow Tuesday! One individual member of the SREF gives us 1.5" of precip. Based on a 15:1 ratio, that's 22.5" of snow!

18z GFS through hour 180 has 0.01" of precip  :censored:

Ridiculous considering all this cold air that's coming. 12z GFS had a cutter next Friday (storm that tracks north&west of here, bringing us rain), to a 18z GFS suppressed OTS solution. 12z ECMWF gives us a lot of snow with this.

No snow, too much virga. Gonna be another couple months of nothing. Maybe the stratospheric warming can increase the heights over the north pole and Greenland so we can see a -NAO/-AO. A -NAO is all that we're missing now.

Here's the call map I made at another forum.

What other forum are you on? I'm on American Weather a lot in the NYC metro forums, if you're on there.

Just be lucky you guys don't live here. Over the past 7 days, the closest we got to winter was just some sleet this morning. Otherwise, the temperatures have been swinging, after it being mild and having some 60's, the tulips are sprouting. Now it's been 30's and damp, cloudy, and dark. It's really depressing, worst place to live if you want sun. Heck, even some palm trees still have green on them and are still alive. Next week may bring some cold air, though I'm skeptical of how cold it will get. I say only as cold as maybe 15°F. Coldest temp so far this season is only 23°F. Snow chances are small, at most a few inches, and if some of the individual members come to fruition, then we could talk maybe a foot. Otherwise, cold, dry and brown for a while.  :wall:
