73.3°F Rain

I was hoping we can stay above 70°F tonight to keep the 70°F+ streak going but with the much needed rain that is falling, looks like we'll drop into the upper 60's for the first time in weeks.

We have been in an unrelenting warm & humid pattern since 6/24, but I love these kinds of patterns, especially if they last long. Latest guidance keeps ridging in place and we look to go yet another 6-10 days of temps near 90°F and dew points 70°F+. The Bermuda High keeps pumping moisture up from the tropics, and it won't stop. This also bad news if a hurricane was to form because it would come this way. We have yet to drop below 70°F so far this month, we might do it Saturday morning with a min of about 69°F. Avg. Dew point is 71°F so far this month and avg. temp is 80°F. It's not rare to get high dews for several days, but this has been lasting weeks, and looks to continue. Very Florida like pattern. Also despite high humidity, rain has been scarce and every storm dies before reaching us.

... Heat advisory in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT this
evening...

The National Weather Service in New York has issued a heat
advisory... which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT this
evening.

* Locations... portions of the lower Hudson Valley and western Long
Island.

* Hazards... heat.

* Heat index values... up to 103 due to temperatures in the lower
90s... and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

* Timing... today... with the hottest conditions occurring during
the afternoon hours.

* Impacts... sensitive populations will be susceptible to adverse
health effects.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and
humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 100 to
104 degrees for two consecutive hours. Take extra precautions if
you work or spend time outside. When possible... reschedule
strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs
and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light
weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty
of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 9 1 1.

I saw that pic on another forum earlier. Personally, I've never experienced hail before in my life. Every time we get a STW that says hail is likely, it never happens. Other than a tornado, it's the only weather phenomena that I have yet to see myself.
