... Strong thunderstorms will impact Bronx... eastern Bergen... eastern
Union... Fairfield... Hudson... Kings (Brooklyn)... Nassau... New York
(Manhattan)... Putnam... Queens... Richmond (staten island)...
Rockland... southeastern Essex... Westchester... western New Haven and
western Suffolk counties...

At 1017 PM EST... National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking
strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Kent to Carmel to
Tarrytown to Elizabeth to Kendall Park... or along a line extending
from 9 miles north of New Milford to Lake Carmel to Tarrytown to
Elizabeth to 6 miles west of North Brunswick township... and moving
east at 45 mph.

Gusty winds up to 50 mph are expected with these storms.

Lightning is one of natures number one killers. Remember... if you can
hear thunder... you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move
to safe shelter immediately.

Lol, the problem was the batteries in the temperature sensor were loose.

Anyway, I found this EXTREMELY strange thing this morning on weather.com

Why would the air temperatures surrounding Florida be colder than the temperatures on land? I'm pretty sure that the warm ocean temperatures would keep the air above the water slightly warm, but this just goes against what I said:

Since I found this to be abnormal, I decided the check out Key West, Florida and see there CC. Turns out, it's just as bad!

I've seen things strange on weather.com, but nothing this bad! Plus, the same thing is happening in Texas too!

This winter might shape out more like the winters of 00-01, 02-03 and 06-07. What I've noticed based on observation data over the past 36 years here on LI, when ever there is a early season snowstorm (like the one we had in October), typically the months after it tend to be well above average. These months include November (which was the warmest on record for here), December( which is so far several degrees above average), and January. However, the months of February, March and April tend to be below average. Where am I getting this from? Looking at data from 1979-1980 and 2000-2001, which both had early season snow events (seems that the media totally forgot about them when talking about this past Oct. snowstorm  ) the months after tend to above average, and then become below average. And so far this year, everything is going the way it happened back then. Not surprised at all.  :noexpression:

The error would be the clear conditions amidst all the clouds?
That and the sudden temperature increase and the sudden increase in pressure. A glitch indeed.

Well, this is just an epic fail by the airport observer, or just a glitch. It might be fixed within the next few hours.

I was watching TWC at the time and it seems that my IS2 disregarded the incorrect data. Not sure how it picked up the error though.
