Wait, are you guys talking about the normal aerial views or the newer 45° views?
We're talking about the normal aerial views. You can check all the satellite photos taken in your area with Google Earth. Just one thing, the dates aren't always correct.
I know that. However, in my area, you have a choice between normal aerial views and the 45° aerial views.

Is that on Google Earth (the program) or Google maps (the online site)?  I had seen that 45° feature on the maps website I believe and LOVE it (I know Bing has something similar with their Bird's Eye view, but it is very out-of-date).  But I cannot seem to find the feature anywhere on Google Earth. :hmm:

Yeah, I don't think there's a 45° feature on Google Earth, nor have I seen it on Google Maps, but I don't use Google Maps that much. I know in Google Earth you can "tilt" your view, but it's not a real 45° view. The only 45° viewing feature I've seen is on Bing, which I would agree, is very outdated. From what I've seen, they're pictures from 2004/2005-ish.

EDIT: Nevermind, Google Maps has 45° viewing but it's not for everywhere like where I am located.

Rainfall is critical when fire weather is present because it tells how moist the soil is:

YES!! Google finally got new satellite photos of Long Island! These "new" photos were taken on May 26th, 2011. They probably released them within the past couple of days because I checked for new satellite photos almost everyday. I'm sorry if I'm going too far with this be we needed new photos. A lot has changed here since Sep 2010,  especially new roads. Just one thing, the quality sucks!

Don't get your hopes up. With all this L-Bar and long form programming, I seldom get to see it.

HOLY!  :o Now we got a Red Flag Warning and a Fire Weather Watch for tomorrow. Look at tomorrow's forecast RH values below!

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 9 PM EDT this
evening...
... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Fire Weather
Watch... which is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday
afternoon.

* Affected area... southeast New York and northeast New Jersey.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
today... and northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph on
Tuesday.

* Timing... into this evening... and again during the day on
Tuesday.

* Relative humidity... as low as 15 to 20 percent this
afternoon... and 10 to 15 percent on Tuesday.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Use
extreme caution if performing outdoor burning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are imminent or occurring... and a Fire Weather Watch means that
critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
A combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and dry
fuels will create explosive fire growth potential.

This is interesting. Another view of how extreme this March warm spell was. All dates in 2012 have been bolded.
