Your Local Weather / Re: Long Island Weather
« on: May 23, 2012, 08:49:50 PM »
Areas of fog... locally dense... are expected to overspread the
ocean facing coastal communities of New York City and Long Island
through this evening. Visibilities in fog are expected to range
mostly from 1/2 to 1 mile... however it may lower to 1/4 mile or
less in spots.

If you are driving... slow down and use your low beam
headlights. Leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden
stop is needed.

NWS forecast for upcoming days. 80's for Memorial Day Weekend, I think it will be slightly warmer than they are expecting. The NWS forecast low for Memorial Day is around 70°F!

What I've noticed on my other Youtube channel (user/GTAIVman), ever since they updated the channels back in March, the number of subscribers I had decreased about 40 subs. I believe this is just Youtube that's not counting the accounts that no longer exist like ones that got suspended, closed etc.

I did not enjoy math until Calculus I.  I was HORRIBLE at algebra, which made me nervous for Calculus.  My trigonometry skills were okay, but became great when integrating it with Calculus.

For those wanting to go into meteorology and are not going for it or thinking about not going it because of the math, GO FOR IT!  Just take each class step by step and you'll do great!  B)
I guess that would be great advice for me since I also want to become a meteorologist when I'm older . I'm currently taking Algebra 2/Trigonometry. I'm pretty good at it. My average should be around in the upper 80's. Hopefully the same thing that happened to you happens to me when I go to take Calculus. I've worried at little bit sometimes when I struggle in math because then I believe that it's too challenging for me for what I want to become when I'm older. I'm trying to pay attention more in math and it has been working out.

There's a 20% chance of tropical development on that low pressure just off the coast from the Carolinas. I don't think it will develop.

I believe I'm fully aware of this. No need to rub it in my face <_<

Can anyone confirm this? BUOYWKAU is reporting Heavy Thunderstorms and Rain with a north wind at 75mph. :dunno:
I can't even find that ship or buoy, which could be anywhere in the Atlantic.  Furthermore, when we mention wind speeds, they are 10-minute sustained average wind speeds.  Instantaneous gusts will always be higher.
I checked the all the official buoys in the area. BUOYWKAU doesn't seem to be an official buoy. So that report is probably wrong.
