71.5°F Weak Thunderstorms

The forecast called for a twenty percent chance of precip for this morning, but I knew this was going to happen.  :P

We got a heat wave on our hands over the next couple of days. Unfortunately, it's hard to predict how hot it will get. A SW wind is a on-shore flow, which may keep temperatures down a little. While inland places will be approaching 100°F, coastal locations should be in the low to mid 90's. Also, humidity will increase, but there isn't much confidence in how much. Dew Points are supposed to increase into the mid and upper 60's (possible some 70's if a sea breeze kicks in). The NWS forecast calls for a drop in dew points on Friday and Saturday, during the afternoon hours. It is uncertain how much the ocean will effect us over the next couple of days. If the sea breeze isn't much of a factor, temperatures will be higher, but humidity will be lower; if a slight sea breeze kicks in, it will be slightly cooler but humidity will increase.

Is the LDL frozen? I would definitely report that to the STAR Team.
No, but it is stuck on two days ago.

Welcome! I wasn't here when the forums were young but it's nice to meet you. That's interesting that you've been through some typhoons. Enjoy it here

Just to bring up this crazy thing I just saw on the LDL. HiRAD is reporting Medford, NY with a thunderstorm right now, when there is clearly nothing on the radar.  :dunno:

EDIT: It appears the LDL is stuck on 2 days ago! The forecast on the LDL called for 73°F with a 100% chance of Thunderstorms, which was the forecast for 6/25/12! The LDL is still on during the commercial breaks. The forecast on the LDL also includes a forecast for Tuesday, which already happened!!! Deja Vu

87, Partly Cloudy. First time in a while no air conditioning is on because it's a dry heat. That'll change in a couple of days however...
Wish I was you, we rarely put the AC on even when it's a wet heat.

74.4°F Mostly Cloudy/Windy

Keep in mind that the reason why Wunderground's forecast might be crazy and unbelievable is because what it does is it takes data from that weather station, whether a PWS or a airport, and sees what it reported in a similar event. For example, lets say there was a 101F heatwave last year. Now you guys have a similar situation coming up. So it takes the data from that last heatwave and says, well, that station reported 107F compared to the forecast of only 101F. So now that forecasts are calling for temperatures near 100F, you will then see forecasts from WU of about 107F,108F etc.

First time I've seen hail reported at KISP. We didn't get any, but we got some 40-50mph wind gusts.

It's truly amazing how much rain we had over the past couple of days! Get a load of this! My weather station's original 1-hour rainfall record was 1.11" set on 4-17-2011. We broke that record just the other day on 6-22-2012, coming in with 1.29" of rain. And now only a dew days later, today 6-25-2012, we broke it again!, coming in with 1.35" and still climbing!
