Noticed a blank screen earlier and thought something was up. Just turned it back to TWC...and am getting a silent satellite LF.

EDIT: Now a blank screen with music.

Gary!

I'm just now getting back into the swing of things. I downloaded several videos, and have several I contributed, and will be happy to recontribute once I get everything going. Also, I can't wait for when Christmas music begins to play on TWC...you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be recording then!

EDIT: My bad. I've been away from the site so long, I just realized the last post in this thread was on the 6th.   :whistling:

woah, Krishnan is a girl? not to be sexist or anything, I didn't know.
I don't think so. He/she (it?) seems to be offended by the slightest things, however...

How is that offensive to women?  Unless you ARE a ho, I wouldn't be worried about it.  My gosh

Excuse me! What did you call me? That was rude
Unless you're female, and get your kicks by turning tricks, I wouldn't worry about it.

Speaking of that, I had a dream that there was a 1999 Satellite Forecast playing and a 2002-2004 Satellite Forecast,  the 2004- 2005 one, and today's HD Satellite and regular Satellite. The 2002 Satellite got degraded and it went back to the 2004 one and it was awesome seeing some historical LF's

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: TWC HD: We Have a Cable Deal

The Big Ten Network.

I ought to show you all (who don't live in the Big Ten area) these promos Comcast is running about "standing up for their customers" by NOT carrying the network.

Morons.
I'd like to see it, if possible.

They pulled something like that here a few years ago. Imbeciles.

Weather Channel HD: We Have a Cable Deal!
But the channel won't reveal with whom.
By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (September 20, 2007) -- The Weather Channel says a major cable operator has agreed to carry its new high-def channel.

But it won't say which cable operator.

That's according to an article in Broadcasting and Cable magazine.

The publication reports that The Weather Channel HD signal is now being fed to DIRECTV's headquarters in California. DIRECTV plans to add the channel when it kicks off its high-def expansion this month.

But a Weather Channel spokeswoman says a major cable operator has agreed to offer the HD channel in October -- and two other TV providers will carry it as well.

“Our distribution partners are moving forward with satisfying their customers’ demand for more compelling HD programming, and they see The Weather Channel as assisting them in satisfying this demand,” Becky Powhatan, the channel's executive vice president for distribution and business affairs, said in a statement to the magazine.

Of course, it should be noted that The Weather Channel HD channel will not actually be in high-def for the first few months at least. The network has yet to complete the renovations on its new HDTV studio so its standard definition signals are being "upconverted" to near-HD quality. (Some documentaries, however, will be in high-def.)

Upconversion improves a standard-def picture, but it doesn't provide the clarity and color of a real HD image.

The Weather Channel's HD studio coverage is expected to go real HD sometime next year.
