Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

The I2 (and presumably also I1) will only display 3 alerts at most on the LF. It will not show more than whatever fits on that one alert page.
The pre-WATT I1 and I2 did display 2 "ALERTS" screens when needed (the I2 would always fit 3 on one screen, while the I1 would only fit 2 on one screen, unless only one line was needed for one of the alerts). Are you for certain that it won't show a second page for 4 or more alerts?

While it is true that the Pre-WATT LFs did have more than one page for alerts on both I1 and I2, the same cannot be said for the WATT LFs. I’m 100% sure I2 (and I1) only show one page for alerts (sadly).
Where you under more than 3 alerts at some point, and only saw one page with 3?

Here's something I've wondered about since "Weather All the Time" launched in November 2013, 3 alerts can fit on one "ALERTS" page, but if there are 4 alerts, could that many squeeze in in 1 page or would it expand to a second page? If it would expand to a second page, and the "Metro Radar" is showing, how would the LF lineup be affected? Would it skip the 7 day, or only show 1 descriptive forecast? The latter was normal if the "ALERTS" and "Metro Radar" were both showing when they had the "Summary" screen prior to October 2014, so back then, would it have been possible to have the "Metro Radar" jump right to the 7 day with 2 "ALERTS" screens and "Metro Radar" or show only 1 descriptive forecast, then the "Summary"(if 4 or more alerts don't fit on 1 screen)?

Programming and Graphics / Re: AMHQ Early Cannned????

Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not, but I heard this morning that beginning on Monday, June 22, AMHQ will now air from 6-10am et. Not sure if this applies to the weekends or not, nor do I know how the other shows will be affected.

Would it be possible to get the simulator to run on a continuous loop on some website without always running on my PC? I'm interested in running it continuously, just like a real "Weatherscan", but it wouldn't be good for my PC to never turn it off at some point.

Does anybody recognize the music in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z50k3hEnGk I wasn't the one who posted that, but whoever this is says it played from 2004-2007, but it doesn't sound like anything I've heard, so now I'm wondering myself what song that person's playing on that video.

Bug Reports / Re: Extended Forecast configuration error
« on: June 14, 2020, 05:00:06 PM »
Unless I'm crazy or something, AZZ543 does not appear in the county list from the scroll down menu. Instead, the "Greater Phoenix Area" is listed under AZZ023, which gives me that error message, as well as anything involving "Maricopa County", and some other counties listed. Does this mean I can't configure an "Extended Forecast" for Phoenix?

I added a Zone to the bottom when you're inside of Extended configuration. Select "543" in Arizona's list which I had labeled "Try This for Extended".
That worked, but now when I try to run the simulator, I get this error message:
"Run-time error '-2147220850 (8004028e)':

File Open Error
I'm sorry if I keep bothering you and for the double posting, but I got the problem to fit itself, but it just now dawned on me that I'm seeing several hours outdated information in the "Current Conditions" segments. Strangely, I'm seeing currently correct information on the "Local Airport Conditions" segment for the same location, "Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l". I'm really sorry if I sound like an idiot (although I'm new to this), but is this a common problem?

Bug Reports / Extended Forecast configuration error
« on: June 07, 2020, 12:30:50 PM »
When I try to build my configuration for my Phoenix area, when I enter "Greater Phoenix Area" as the county into the "Extended Forecast", it tells me this: "Data from NWS does not provide tabular Extended forecast data for this Zone number, please try another zone.", even though this page; https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?w0=t&w1=td&w2=hi&w3=sfcwind&w3u=1&w4=sky&w5=pop&w6=rh&w7=rain&w8=thunder&w10u=0&w13u=1&w14u=1&AheadHour=0&FcstType=digital&textField1=33.9246&textField2=-116.126&site=all&unit=0&dd=&bw=&AheadDay.x=63&AheadDay.y=16, suggests otherwise. Is this a bug, or am I overlooking something?

I’m not exactly sure when the narration for the extended forecast began on the XL. But, you would occasionally hear the generic “your extended forecast” even after it appeared. The extended forecast was only narrated when there was sufficient time, based on flavor type and the actual forecast of the next three days and the length of the narration required.
This is off-topic, and may not fall under the classic category, but does anybody reading this (whether it'd be you, Tyler, or somebody else) have an Atlanta and/or Pittsburgh IntelliStar :08/:38 LF from March 20 through late June 2008?  Those 2 areas had a beta flavor where the traffic products were shown right after the "Current Conditions" segments, and the "Getaway Forecast" was shown at the end of the LF after "The Week Ahead" product, but I've never seen that before, so I was hoping maybe you had an LF recorded that you never posted before (at least to my knowledge), or somebody else from one of those 2 areas reading this,

Sorry for the double-posting, but I have to ask, was this video https://twcclassics.com/watch.php?file=hangin-out edited, or was there a glitch? I can't imagine why it said "your extended forecast." instead of "Expect a chance of rain Tuesday through Thursday, with temperatures in the 60s, on Tuesday.", with and without 2 seconds added.

I don't think that kind of narration was around back then.
Well this video from 5 months later; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsmTkj9o5nI, has the "Expect a chance of rain Tuesday through Thursday" narration in it, but they should have had all narrations for all possibilities from the day narration on the XL debuted. Now, another question, what was going on in this video? https://twcclassics.com/watch.php?file=st-tropez-00 Was this somehow related to the then-newly added narration back then?

I can confirm that the "Regional Forecast" product has shown more than just 12:48pm et, as I've seen it here in Phoenix on every LF since 11:18am mst (the last LF I saw before that was 9:18am mst). It's so great to see a product return that was last seen in the pre-WATT days, and for the IntelliStar 2 units, this is the first appearance of this product since March 31, 2013 when they discontinued the few 90 second and 2 minute LFs that remained the day after, with the latter only being shown weekend morning at 4:28am et since the prior November. Coincidentally, this occurs exactly 11 years to the date of the IntelliStar receiving new flavors on May 18, 2009, some of which didn't include the "Current Conditions" segment, which so many people hated back then, though I'm sure they'd take that over all the things that happened years later. In fact, I was gonna post about that in the "General LF Discussion" until I saw this.
