Thanks for that link Trevor! Im going to start listening......I read some of the criteria that helps identify a song.....this one that I'm working on had a phychedelic tune to it (no identifiable instrument), it sounded similar to the instrument in the song "Days End" track number 33 from the Weatherscan music......and the repeat was in August/September of either 2004 or 2005.

Hi everyone! Just signed up today, but have been a Weather Channel lover since winter 95/96 when my hometown of Greensboro, NC got hammered with snow! I'd watch it trying to figure out if I'd have school the next day! Of course, as is the case with many Weather Channel enthusiasts, I gained a huge interest in "Local on the 8s" and their music! Been watching ever since!

I have a question to ask, but don't know which forum to ask it on. Its about the Local on the 8s music. There was a song in the winter of 1996 that just stuck in my head for the longest time. I never heard it again for many years, but then in the late summer of 2004 or 2005, out of nowhere, the song from 1996 played on Local on the 8s!! Then I remember reading an article on this site, I think, about the weather instrument (Im a newbie :) ) being used at the time, 2004 or 2005, having technical glitches, and TWC having to use their old system and music for a brief period of time. Im wondering if that could have been my song repeat, and will get me one step closer to finding the song/artist!!

Thank you so much! And let me know if my question should be better asked in another forum!
