There was ALWAYS something very odd about Bob "Twizzle Stick" Stokes.  It is really too bad..because I thought Hillary Andrews was a 1st class lady!

Amidst the other happenings at TWC today, Abrams & Bettes announced that TWC will be going dark for Earth Hour tomorrow, which falls during the final hour of PM Edition Weekend. As a little preview, they turned off the lights in the Abrams & Bettes studio and also showed the lights being turned off in Studio 1 in a recorded segment. They left the A&B studio pitch black for several seconds before turning the lights back on. After that, they omitted the check in with the EE team and went straight to the Photo Finish, after which they went to a wide shot of the studio and turned the lights back off as Steph waved goodbye.

It should be interesting to see what they to with PME Weekend tomorrow, as well as what studio they use for the show.

BTW: I can get a video of this segment later after my recording stops.

Earth Hour?  I think I'll go cut down a tree or three...what a load of BS.

No Kyle, i meant that TWC usually doesn't tell people ONLINE to advertise. Holy cow, you have any idea how many times the WWCH promos come up a day?

There are many ways in this day and age to get your message out...one thing these networks have figured out is the blogosphere holds GREAT power....and we're loyal to each other.  I have a wonderful base of readers on my Weather Blog who enjoy what I put out.  The #1 website in our community will be putting my blog up as their weather page for our area...that's cool!  I've told the agency marketing lady for TWC to keep me informed and I'll pass the word via my weather blog.

So when do you think the weather channel will have there Relaunch this year ? I know  they will relaunch in HD and have knew studios. But think of the on air graphics there going to have. Is everybody ready for a relaunch.

I agree with the June 2008 date as posted by LOL....that has seemed to be the target date for a while...having HD programming and a NEW Sony 40" HDTV makes me excited to see the new studio and new production.  We have a local channel in Nashville who now does their evening news in HD and it's incredible...makes you want to watch them over the other three newscasts...the RADAR and other Weather Toys in HD are simple AWESOME!

As promised, I have cleared out all broken video links throughout the site. There wasn't all that many, so for the most part no single video page will look much different. If I should find any of the removed videos at any time I will put them back up. until then, the broken links need to go. Search engines (not to mention people) don't think too highly of those.

Awesome LF...I'll peruse the site and check them out!

I have suffered through several computer crashes over the past couple of month's, which, as you guys have probably noticed, has resulted in a lack of updates to the site lately. I intend to fix my computer problem once and for all tomorrow, so I will finally be able to update the site. I have a slew of news articles I will be posting to the news page, and a bunch of playlists I will be re-adding to the site. There will likely be some other things too, so stay tuned.

Fantastic!  I'll be looking forward to the update!

The major debate, however, is whether we have anything to do with it....

...And if it's real (which it isn't). Anyway, as I said on my site, the biggest issue here is whether or not the new owner will shut down sites like this.

Your right. You and I both need to be very concerned about that. 

Guys, I don't think they (or new ownership) are real interested in shutting sites like these down...now, if you were putting out UNTRUE garbage 24-7 about TWC and putting forth rumors about management, ownership, on-air talent, etc...then, you might be hit with a 'cease and desist'...but almost every entity has it's 'fan sites' as well as it's 'non-fan' sites....

This site, to me, is mostly visited by people who enjoy chatting about the network and about other 'trivial' things.  I do think they peek in to see what is being talked about here as well as the TWC CLASSICS site.

the best years of the weather channel for me was 2001-2005 i was soooooo mad when they changed the weather channel logo lol

Yeah, I wasn't too happy about that either. I think the new logo is very plain and boring. Anyone can make a blue box and write the words The Weather Channel in it. At least the old log showed a LITTLE creativity.

I agree 100%. The old one looked much nicer. Wasn't as vibrant, and did show creativity. I was mad when they changed the IS and XL

So, let's do this.....instead of all the belly-aching....who here actually LIKES it and watches it?....because, let's face it...the OLD WAY isn't coming back...no matter how much we all whine about the good ol' days!

Ya'll sound like a bunch of grumpy, OLD men!..(and I know you're not...most of you are from 14-22)...

Then please explain the continuous commercials for the new program    that's way TOO MUCH informing

(but..i caught your drift )

WX MEDIA FAN and LOL...one thing you must remember about TWC is that MOST viewers are 'casual'...meaning they tune in for just a bit and then go to another channel...that is why TWC will run a PROMO frequently....you have to catch the casual viewer....to someone who'll sit and watch TWC, you think they repeat themselves.

I think it was more of a Marketing Company (hired by TWC) to have bloggers promote the show to people who are in their circle of influence.  They figure a weather blogger will tend to reach people who are very interested in weather stuff..(which is, by the way, who I read with the blog) and would be a possible watcher of the show...I like the fact the new show combines History AND Weather......
