Busy here today! I opened the New Threads page, and there's a big list, almost as if I haven't been here in a few days, compared to TWCClassics, which only had about 6 threads.

I assume you use an ethernet cable and card to connect to the internet, and if that's the case lightning could very possibly have traveled through that and fried your PC. Yep, you don't need to have it plugged in to get it fried. I've dealt with many computers that were fried via the modem or ethernet connection.
Actually that's what came to my mind, too.
I was going to say temporarily short the CMOS setting on the motherboard, but probably not in this situation.

Hey Billy, my charge for my laptop broke (where the wire comes out of the transformer seems to be a little nick in the wire). So I chatted with HP and they sent me a new one the next day, free of charge. Comes to show you how far limited warranties can go
