You're right, it isn't as cut and dry as I stated.  I never factored in things like production costs, the state of the market, etc.

There may have been one only company who made record profits, but certainly the other companies were certainly getting fat off their oil revenues as well

Even if the gas companies figured in 1 cent per gallon in profits, at that rate they still would make $146 million in a year.

IOW, if they pay say $2.43 to obtain that oil, and sell it for say $2.50, they would still make $1 billion in a year.

The high prices the oil companies pass to us are really only slightly lower than what they had to pay to get it, so it's not like they get it for extremely cheap, and then jack up the costs before it gets to you.

VCR's area dime a dozen these days. Why not just get a VCR that has stereo outs? 

Oh man, I reallly like this VCR.  I wouldn't trade an arm and a leg for this one (it's 21 years old )

I have this VCR that has only mono audio outputs.  I need stereo output so I can have the audio to my receiver and hear it on all four ceiling speakers.  I'm not interested in just making it "inauthentic stereo" (having two mono feeds fill up all four speakers)

I was thinking of some sort of cheap adapter that converts coaxial to RCA.  Any ideas?

Also, I had NO idea he was black.  I always pictured him as a skinny white guy in a suit with those 1950's glasses that have a black bar at the top and nothing at the bottom
