General Discussion / Taxes
« on: March 11, 2008, 04:47:04 PM »
For those of you old enough who figure your own taxes, without getting too personal, I'd thought this would be a good place to share any advice, ask questions if you get stuck, etc. on filing your return. :)

You're right!  I remember the day precisely, March 10th, 1998.  Drastic programming changes left and right that day.  The only thing that was the same were the green maps, and even then they changed those just three months prior at the beginning on the year 1998.

Ahh, memories

After his scrapped outrageous plan back in the fall in which he wanted to give illegal immigrants driver's licenses,

Oh man, I totally agree with you.  The government can't give illegal immigrants something for nothing

Well, if someone appeals this in the Supreme Court, no doubt it will be overturned (for obvious reasons).

My laptop is really p**sing me off at the moment. The wireless isn't working, and it doesn't recover properly from sleep mode anymore.

Call em up :)

What's wrong with its sleep mode?
Whenever it goes into sleep mode for the second time after a reboot, it never recovers, so I have to hold down the power button and restart it.

Hmm...did you try the FN + sleep key to bring it out of sleep mode? (dumb question)

LOL... However I think by "Pill" he is refering to the image size..?

Umm, I don't know about any of you...I had a different thing in mind when you were talking about tools and pills (if you catch me drift)

Even the antenna? In all of the notebooks i've worked on, the antenna has always been at the top of the screen, with a cable running down the side.
Ah hell!

I have a IBM Stinkpad and it has two antennas, one on the right, and one on the left with.... two wires!

Did you ever replace a laptop screen, Ky?

It might be, I'm not really sure.

What the hell is an inverter??  Do I need that if I'm just replacing the screen?

Oooooh hint of advise: When replacing the screen, watch for other cables. Typically, the wireless antenna is in the screen assembly somewhere. Definitely make sure that you don't snag anything else, or your wireless mihgt not work.

Actually, I think the wireless assembly is at the base of the laptop...but I will keep a lookout for it in case, thanks :)
