Wow, is it me or is it extremely quiet today both here and at TWCC? I've logged on numerous times today to find both places dead empty.

It's a Monday, Gary.  There's no motivation to do ANYTHING on Mondays :P

Honestly, who gives a flying **** about past TWC content?

People who actually recognize the original intention of the channel, that's who.

remind me again...who is actually old enough to remember the classical twc.

not I, or half the members on here. ;)

Me, Matt, Layne, Nick, Gary, tpirfan, Chazz, Billy, etc. etc. etc.  I know it sounds astonishing, but there was a world before your time *gasp*

Note, he said here.  I'm sure he knows that there are some out there, just not here.

thank you, kyle. at least some people read the whole damn post.

I saw the word "here."  Did you want me to answer your original question, or your answer you tacked on with the word "here"?

All holidays are invented, my friend.
Not Christmas, thanksgiving or easter, they're religious holidays, IMO

How is that your opinion?

Damn republicans.

What does this have to do with Republicans?

Steve, I haven't had a single CFL that didn't start out dim at first

The idea is great, however there are too many cons to justify them being better than incandescents.  I do operate about ten of these bulbs, however.

Acquiring it without paying for it=theft.  I can break it down simpler for you if you like.

That's comcast for you. <_< BTW, is this for real?
100% real. I just think that there's no reason to pay outrageous amounts of money for things that should be free.

1)  That's bulls***.  While I agree with you on the outrageous price point, you can't expect them to be completely FREE.  Do you know what an economy is?
Yup. The thing is though, so many people actually PAY for the software, that it doesn't matter if someone gets it for free. I just can't justify paying more than $1,000 for a piece of software.

Neither can I.  However, usually when you can't afford something, you don't get it.  And when you can afford something, you buy it.  It's a complicated subject, really

Because the CFL's lifetime is reduced dramatically (by 85%) if it is constantly being turned off and on, like it would be in a bathroom.

Sounds....attracting.  Just another "condition" of a CFL..

Sorry, but anything that doesn't produce light now needs to go back to the drawing board.  I'm not going to wait five minutes while I have to use the bathroom to get light!
Well, you're not supposed to use CFLs in the bathroom in the first place. :whistling:

Whatever.  The bedroom, the family room, whatever.

Why not, anyway?

That's common. It's frequently associated with admin-only tasks too like locking a topic, warning members, deleting threads, etc.

Victor, you're missing his point.  It's a Guest who is performing those privileges
