General Discussion / Re: Gas prices in your area
« on: November 20, 2008, 03:16:34 PM »
I kid you not, oil is trading in electronic trading at 50.50/barrel.  And one gallon of gas on the open market (pre-tax/transportation/fees) is going for 1.03/gal.
You've got to be kidding! When was it last this low? 1999? :o

General Discussion / Re: The Holidays Come Earlier Each Year

I think Christmas should not even be mentioned until the day after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday.
Well put.

Is Thanksgiving even considered to be an important holiday anymore?
They sure do make it seem that way. After the election commercials, they seem to skip Thanksgiving and go right to Christmas commercials.

:brr: They're predicting an active winter... many are saying the average snowfall for my area will be 20-25" this year and below average temperatures :brr:
Wow, sound like we'll have the most active winter season since 02-03!

It's pretty cold today. As of the noon hour many locations are still around the freezing mark.

There's a Dylan in TWCC, but his last name isn't Bennett.

Thanks! I've seen this IntelliStar once while at a friends house in Cherry Hill.

I always tend to go with
Laptops: Sony, Apple
Desktop: Dell, HP
Yeah, this iBook is more than four years old and still runs quite well. Never had major problems with it. It's specs are quite outdated compared to today's Apple laptops, though (especially the harddrive - it's only 30 GB). The battery is also pretty good. This is the original battery and still holds a 3-4 hour charge (depending on what I use it for).

I'll think about getting either a Dell or HP desktop. Definitely not another Compaq if this one only lasted for roughly three years.

WeatherPlus' logo hasn't changed. I'm not surprised though seeing that channel will be gone soon.

Personally, I don't find the way Weatherscan currently looks when it is in severe weather mode. It doesn't get viewers much attention that severe weather is occuring because the only difference is the crawl, and the grey local radar banner. The L-bar colors stay the same.

Here's what I think Weatherscan should look like during severe wx mode. Comments?

Your second post (where it says noone should be PM'ing them for anything) made it sound like we can't PM them at all, whether it's for the emulator or not.

Thanks Jesse. I wasn't expecting Weatherscan to get this update. This marks the first graphical update in nearly two years.

They should probably change the Weatherscan logo green too. It looks kinda awkward the way it is now.

Thanks for sharing that, Stephen. Are Dells any good? My school has them but I've never owned one myself, or tried it anywhere else.

Man I wish NBC didn't acquire TWC.

Can someone provide a screencap of Weatherscan w/ the green logo? I don't have it on basic cable here. I'll take a camera pic or from a tuner.
